Djokovic v Berrettini and Nadal v Rublev in the top half
Zverev v Thiem or Ruud and Tsitsipas v Opelka in the bottom half.
I have Berrettini and Zverev - posted on boards a few weeks ago - And am adding from the other two quarters
Tsitsipas @ 9/2
Rublev @ 33/1 ( Probably a complete waste but he did beat Nadal on clay in Monte Carlo in April )

Fognini is 2 from 7 on clay this season and last week played exhibition matches on the same surface against Medvedev/Fritz/Moutet and lost all three (not exactly clay court specialists) - making him 2 from 10. Barrere is French and won two qualifiers to make it into the Lyon main draw where he lost to Gasquet in three sets.

Gerasimov v Couacaud
Gerasimov has lost his last five on clay and pulled out injured a week or so ago. Couacaud has better form. Players have not met before.
Pella v Galan
Have played once before three years ago - Pella won in five sets. Pella's form this year is won two and lost eight - even losing to Fognini above. Galan won three qualifiers in Munich recently and finished runner up in a Challenger warm up event.

Fokina is a good clay courter and he's had some good results in the tournaments coming into the French Open: a semifinal appearance in Estoril, quarterfinal in Monte Carlo (retired), and round of 16 in Rome Masters.
Kukushkin has had a season to forget so far, losing all his five matches on clay without winning a single set. Moreover, his opponents were of a much lower calibre than Fokina. I think this will be a short match.
Bet: Fokina under 18.5 games @2.26, sportsbet.com.au (bet365 has it @1.83)

Wow, Giron was 1-5 down in the third set, then saved 3 match points and went on to break Dimitrov 3 times to win the set!

None of these players like clay and especially Medvedev, who stated at the beginning of the European clay season that he hates playing on clay, the ball bounces in weird ways, you get dirty.
He never won a match at the French Open and he hardly won any match on clay.
Bublik isn't that keen to play on clay either, so I expect an entertaining match.

Paire has had a poor season and is 2 from 14. He withdrew injured last week. Ruud is my fancy from this section to make the quarters. The bet is 50/50 whether Paire wants to play or not so taking the odds against

Cilic has been poor this season whilst Rinderknech has a win/loss ratio of 2/1. Just over a week ago he took the second set off Norrie on clay in Lyon. I think he has a shot at winning here but the 12/10 is thin so taking
Cilic v Rinderknech
Double result
Cilic/Rinderknech @ 25/4 (Cilic win first set and lose match)

Rublev led the tour with five titles last year and he is currently third in the race to Turin behind Novak Djokovic and Stefanos Tsitsipas. Struff managed to be competitive when they met in Rome recently, but for the most part he hasn’t been in great form of late and he is coming off a 6-2, 6-4 loss to Tommy Paul in Parma. Struff would have a better chance against Rublev on a faster surface.
The odds for Rublev to win 3-0 are 1.72, but I found a slightly better option:
Total Games Under 32.5 @1.83.

Two clay-courters who won their respective matches in the first round in 4 and 5 sets respectively.
Their last encounter was in October last year in Italy, a match that went the distance in 3 long sets.

Paul won the junior French Open and is not horrible on clay. Medvedev was much better in the first round than he normally is on this surface but I fancy the old USA v Russia to inspire Paul to sneak a set. In the unlikely event that Medvedev tanks I'm taking something that covers this

Schwarzman v Bedene
Schwarzman's form coming in has been poor on clay and Bedene has beaten him a few times on this surface although not recently. Just feel Bedene may sneak a set and run him close in another.

Lovely to see the old guy with the dodgy knees in the last 32 on his least favored surface. Has also been deprived of the crowd on his side by giving him the late slot. Just have to believe Koepfer can run up a few games against Roger and will probably take a set.

Schwartzman has been poor entering this tournament and the players he has beaten thus far are not the quality of Rublev and Alcazar - both beaten by Struff. I think Struff has a better chance then the 18/10 floating around but I prefer to rely on his big serve to keep him in the sets so going with

Sinner has the kind of game and has enough control and concentration to make Nadal uncomfortable. He should play well enough to at least give himself some chances, as he did in Rome a few weeks ago.
These two players met twice so far, and although Nadal won in straight sets (French Open last year and Rome a few weeks ago), it wasn't a walk in the park and Sinner kept close and created problems to Nadal in both matches.

Should be pretty easy for Zverev. Only oddity lies with my books.
I can choose sets of Zverev to win 3-0 at 15/20 or you can have Zverev -2.5sets at 19/20. After wrestling with this for a long time I have gone with
Zverev -2.5 sets @ 19/20

Tsitsipas is 20-3 this clay court season with his losses coming to Nadal, Djokovic and clay-courter Casper Ruud, winning events at Monte Carlo and Lyon. His run this French Open hasn’t been easy, but he’s won all four matches with ease including smashing the 12th ranked Pablo Carreno Busta in straight sets.
Despite struggling on clay across his career, Daniil Medvedev has impressed this French Open – but Tsitsipas is on another level and should be too good in three or four sets.
Bet 1: Tsitsipas -3.5 @1.80
Bet 2: Medvedev total games Under 18.5 @2.01

Not quite on the same page as Quill this evening (which is unusual). Thought the Zverev match was an easy call and went large. This match is more difficult. I see a pretty even two set start and then one or the other running out a winner. Smaller bet then earlier

Schwartzman was winless in four matches before entering the French Open, and he is nowhere near his best at the moment.
With Struff the Argentinian trailed 1-5 in the first set and later saved five set points on return before stealing the set in the tiebreaker and win in three tight sets, 7-6 6-4 7-5.
Nadal hasn't had such issues and dispatched his opposition quite comfortably so far. There is nothing to suggest that Schwartzman is capable of putting up a fierce resistance here, although the handicap might be a tad too big at - 9.5, and a +9.5 could arrive.

Humbert to beat Auger-Aliassime
Humbert is playing better on grass, after a disappointing clay season. He won both matches here without losing a set and serving well.
Felix Auger-Aliassime is also coming after a weaker period, losing at the French Open in the first round. He doesn't seem to have gotten used to Toni Nadal and his demands, and at the moment his game is not convincing.
In his first match here he gave 10 break points, saving 9 of them.

Zverev didn't have high calibre opponents (Nishikori still isn't what he used to be), whereas Tsitsipas was dominant against no. 12 as well (Careno Busta).
Nadal vs Djokovic... On clay Nadal beat Djokovic 8 months ago in the final here, then he beat him in Rome a few weeks ago. Djokovic should wait until they meet on a hard surface to beat Nadal.
