Based on his new climbing ability and his undoubted ITT pedigree going with Dennis and have to have a few beers on a rider who can surprise.

Today's stage is pretty flat but the last 50km gets interesting. There is 1km at over 9% around 16km out and 2km at over 9% around 7km out. One from the bunch for me and one of my favorite break away riders in his home country.

171km Today with the action expected on the 6km climb at under 5% topping out 10km from the finish. Weather expected to be poor so going vdP to cover stakes - Soler for a wet downhill - a local for the break.

I am going again with Hirschi @ 33/1
If he is able to get into the break, I remember him been a brilliant descender and hoping he can get away on the final descent.

We get the whole stage today so we can see the break form and will have all the info needed for an in-play punt. Time gaps and size should tell us whether Ineos will need to ride it down before the final climb. Up front going with

Like a few breakaway guys like Tolhoek and Benoot but they are plenty short
Will take half a unit each way at 10/1 and 25/1 and a unit on Uran winning the overall at 9/1
Carapaz was not bad yesterday but I would not have expected him to lose time like that on the climb and perhaps he isn't 100%
I hope Astana put Ineos under pressure and Uran makes a decisive attack
What a pity Alaphilppe has gone home, having him with a chance at winning would have mad this a seriously exciting stage which I still hope it will be

I agree that if break is the right mix they should get the job done. If not I like Woods to deliver from a select group (will take some in running if this looks likely).
