Has to be the value play in the GR1 Champions Cup on Sat. Didn't run July day so might be a bit fresher than others, i think connections were a bit frustrated he didn't make final field. If he settles he's a big runner, and CT will be setting a decent pace which will suit RR.
At weights obviously a bit to do but 16/1 in this size field, for an in-form yard, is good value.

I like a bit of No 8 Captain Bombshell, currently around 7/1
Second time out 3.6 lengths off Thunderstruck. We haven't seen Thunderstruck since, was entered for the Horseshoe but never accepted but that form line might just trump that of Mercantour and Ridgerunner. Respect Formagear as well but it's Bombshell for me.

14 Ameena currently around 7/2, worst of the draw but watching the replay of last run again had to slalom her way up the straight and won going away suggesting the mile no problem, this stable has some top notch 2yo's for sure

Purely my own view on the race.... I think RV is a player over 1600m, got to respect G1 opposition, babies improving different rate of knots from one race to the next but we pulled an inside gate for first time ever so a big plus there

R1 SILVANOS TIMER @ 13/2 ew
Was an early July hope for DK yard but seems to have some soundness issues. 3 runs on poly for a win, 2nd and 3rd, although a few in race even stronger poly form. But yard strike rate remains impressive all season.
R2 GIMME A SHOT @ 16/1 ew
Massive value in my view, form from one run really strong, with Feather Boa win on July day a standout against winners. Azzie yard not down for a day at the beach. I think this starts in single figure odds.
R3 CAPTAIN CASEY @ 16/1 ew
Rock solid form line and Drier yard haven’t had a promising juvenile for some time, think this one could give the yard a decent shot at glory in a lean season.
R4 TIME FO ORCHIDS @ 7/2
landed a decent place payout for me last time on July day, great effort from a wide draw. Plum spot this time around, expecting a big run. Price is skinny vs last run so will try find one roughie as back up.
R5 ROYAL VICTORY @ 13/2
LAGUNA VERDE @ 8/1
RV ran a cracker last time out flying late to only get beaten by one too good on the day. The 1600 should suit and hoping for a massive day for connections.
LV the biggest danger for me, came from a long way back for 4th in same race, was 13th at 400m, had fastest 400m to finish of field.
R6 to follow, think about upset on cards, for some reason keep looking at Zarina but will have another think.
R7 CHOLLIMA @ 25/1 ew
the one run over stayer trip was impressive. Not been disgraced on better quality over shorter, jock booking eye catching, handy 54kg on back.
R8 RUSSIAN ROCK @ 16/1 ew
see earlier week post.
R9 KAILINE @ 16/1 ew
Good record course and jock has gone close for trainer a few times. Think Marina is sadly not force of last year, evens is short.
Good racing and go Royal Victory for Mackem and Natasha!!

Race 1 - Juliet Tango @ 16/1
First run on the Poly, gets the services of top Jock, and thinking last 2 may have been a bit to far but over the last run at Greyville, looked to be running on, so hoping with plum draw will give a decent showing.
Race 2 - Antigua Night @ 10/1 & Gimme A Shit like South
Antigua Night - Not worse showing last time over further, back to sprint distance. Formline not the worse
GAS - Same as South, strong formlines from win
Race 3 - Catian Casey
Following South, think more open than betting suggesting
Race 4 - Woodland Retreat @ 22/1 & Hold My hand @ 6/1
Woodand Retreat -Poorly drawn this time but last run behind Ameena I thought was impressive. Stable also has been known to have some hot youngsters.
Hold My Hand - First run at course over distance I thought was impressive. Took awhile to setttle and then ran well and won like a 4/10. Showed pace up the shorter straight. Never beat much but put them away by 4l.
Race 5 - Exactly same 2 as South
My lurker here is Billy Bowlegs
Race 6 - Big Burn @ 10/1
Race 7 - Imperial Ruby @ 40/1
Last run behind Black Thorn was impressiv and gets a 1.5kg swing in the weights. Also a proven stayer where quite a few have questions besides the top few in the betting
Race 8 - Linebacker @ 6/1
I think will put behind disappointing July and will come back to best form
Race 9 - Fav looks hard to beat here and will be my Pick 6 banker. Last run behind She's a Keeper I thought was impressive over shorter than best distance
Race 10 - Danila Danavitch @ 25/2
Since moving to KZN had decent form and previos run over C & D was impressive
Enjoy the day and all the best Mackem

Race 1 - Night Tiger @ 60/1
Bit concerned by Stable comment but was on before they were up. Like the breeding and some speedy siblings
Race 2 - Lady Silvano @ 5/1
Really like this one, has a short priced fav to beat but thought 1st run was decent and stable always bring them on in second run
Race 5 - Quasimoda @ 14/1
Race 6 - Jet for time @ 20/1
Race 8 - Star Master @ 16/1 & Benjamin @ 12/1
Star Master - Gone off form but best 2 runs to date were C & D in the soft going.
Benjamin - very positive stable comments and should ike the softer going.
Hope you all have a great day
