I didn't get too involved on Sunday thank goodness as fancied Ulster -24.5 and they lost to Zebre - not quite as big as Saracens losing to Castre last week but another huge upset.
SIX NATIONS
I love the 6 Nations which gets going this weekend
Here is the latest outright betting at Betxchange
France 16/10
Ireland 16/10
England 3/1
Scotland 11/2
Wales 60/1
Italy 134/1
Other markets of interest include
Grand Slam winner NO at 15/20
Ireland to win Triple Crown at 27/20
Penaud top try scorer at 8.25/1
1st Round Handicaps
France -26.5 v Wales (as South predicted moved from -23.5) Points 55.5
Scotland -19.5 v Italy, Points 53.5
Ireland -7.5 v England, Points 46.5
I will get a 6 Nations Round 1 blog going in the morning and will look at some long term plays as well as round 1 matches
Guys is there appetite for a buy in Superbru for 6 Nations? R500 as usual

Has there ever been a better 4/1 bet in rugby? Absolute steal this. Ireland the only danger but simply nowhere near the French if DuPont and co in the mood.

That's a large handicap for an opening fixture this Friday though

Highest scoring match: France v Wales (sorry Jameson)
Found this at 9/1 @ ladbrokes (5/1 @ Bet365)
Ramos is unbackable at 8/15 top pointscorer
I won same bet on him in 2023 @ 4/1
Dupont is obvs short @7/4 player of the tournament but perhaps value with:
Emmanuel Meafou 20/1
Louis Bielle- Biarrey 16/1
Caolen Doris 10/1
Decent options as all are in top form for clubs
Top tournament point scoring team : France @ 6/4 Bet365
Best of luck all

I totally agree, taking the piss. Should be at least +36.5 start.

Thinking of going a different route, Backing Scotland Grand slam 28/1 & hoping they get to the France game in Paris in round 5, to then give the option to possibly lay off some of it by backing France
Scotland got 3 home games & (Away to England & France)
France got 2 home games & (Away to England, Italy & Ireland)

Yes the winner will probably come from the one of the usual suspects at the top of the market , but cant ignore that price for a speculative bet hoping to get into the mix with the place part of the bet. Must be one the next few players inked in on the team sheet after Dupont, Usually the full 80 mins in games, Pops up with a try or 2 in games. Toulouse and Bordeaux been scoring tries for fun

Desperate times Jameson. Possible rain might help you Friday. Sadly for Wales, Penaud's replacement is the hottest new wing in French rugby and with LBB on the other wing i think it's going to be a long night in Paris for the away fans...

Being 'new', the occasion will get to him and he'll fluff his lines

Weather looks dry in Paris though.

Inside circles suggest it will be Pau flyer Attissogbe. Watched this lad when France sent B side to Argentina. Was electric.

Looks like no takers here Brent. If you open one at R100 I will put up R1,000 for the winner with all the R100's going to my local Hermanus Animal Welfare. Happy to have it run on an honour basis if you know all the players.

Tomorrow I am with Italy and will be looking for them on the HT handicap plus 8.5 and will back it up with some more plus Italy FT tomorrow.
Finally Ireland/England should be a great game, , I'm liking unders but the quote of 43.5 looks a little low, I'll have an initial bet on the unders but look to get more involved if there is a fast start
Just the 3 games so each one will count massively.

That's what I'm hoping for - I've gone +47.5 but to win that Wales need to score ......

Disappointed with Wales but I think we'll have enough to take Italy.
But bloody hell, that's a one eyed ref if ever there was one. The biscuit was that yellow card for offside 70M from out goal line while the French were offside all game!

Must admit I dozed off in the 2nd half but sadly for Wales they didn't play too badly and were just beaten by a far superior team - that will be hard to change

Stay awake man!
Plenty of possession but didn't know what to do with it ....
That's the 2nd time we've been nilled by the French - I had the misfortune of being at the 1st - Wembley 1998. 0 - 51. Its an exclusive club with only Namibia for company. Says it all ...........

A bit against the grain today, but i like how Karl Dickson tries to get sides to speed up game and going overs in Edinburgh -

2 low scoring matches so far
France U20 v Wales U20 in Vannes tonight
29-11 Fra in WC semi final last time these sides met.
Not easy to knock the lights out in the first match.
Difficult to have confidence in Welsh rugby at present but there are shoots of optimism in the underage side. Some squad players are with strong premiership sides - Bath, Bristol, and Leicester.
I think the 27pt handicap is alot and I'm playing it.
Wales +27 @10/11 Boyles

So I'm on the Italians HT plus 8.5 , have taken plus 18.5 and will get further involved at bigger plusses in running if they should come about .
Later on I still fancy the unders in Dublin but need 44.5 minimum so shopping around .
