I stuck my neck out with a large play on the over 49.5 in the Bulls game and while that landed with ease I was disappointed with my call to switch the newsletter bet to over 48.5 in the Sharks game a bet hat was never a runner.

Overall a decent weekend though catching the early u58.5 in the Reds v Force game and going 3/4 in Super Rugby

We are back to 5 Super Rugby games this weekend and the Super Rugby Week 8 Blog is up and running with tables, betting and of course projected handicaps which are copied below

Chiefs -10.5 v Reds
Moana Pasifika -4.5 v Waratahs
Fijian Drua +8.5 v Crusaders
Blues -4.5 v Hurricanes
Force 6.5 v Highlanders

There are also Champions and Challenge Cup round of 16 matches and I will get a blog going in the morning

I know we may not get caps for the challenge cup tomorrow or for a few days even but looking at fixtures it might be worth keeping an eye on press releases etc from teams that may not care much about the comp. I wonder how bulls will view this comp

I suspect the SA teams will take the Challenge Cup seriously but agree it will pay to keep a close eye on things

Super Rugby handicaps are out and here are comparisons with mine (apologies I left a minus out of Force game)

Chiefs -10.5 (-11.5) v Reds
Moana Pasifika -4.5 (+1.5) v Waratahs - the biggest difference, I think money will come for Moana at these levels
Fijian Drua +8.5 (+6.5)v Crusaders
Blues -4.5 (-4.5) v Hurricanes
Force -6.5 (-3.5) v Highlanders

I will be playing an Alt handicap accumulator

Harlequins +25
Munster +11
Bordeaux -16
Leicester +12

I usually avoid punting Munster but will put a few beers on them to win @11/5
Players returning from layoffs for Munster and La Rochelle confidence may be down after a tough run

This article from the roar says it’s likely Bell and Tupou will be rested this weekend, and potentially Gleeson and Leota too.

Munster +8.5 ha @1.90 2u

4 points advantage to SR in my books, very disappointing season with relegation very close. Munster should be up to the task.

i'm an overs punter but the 57.5 Chiefs vs Reds is seriously tempting me consider a rare unders bet. Looks like it will be very heavy rain Friday, easing to showers in evening. My only concern is both sides handling is very good.

Mind doesn't want to go unders, just feel under pressure all game.

I don't bet totals generally.

But good call. Weather looks likely to be pretty poor for Hamilton on Friday night 57.5 is too high.

Points line starting to drop now in the chiefs v reds game, now at 56.5

If I tune in on Friday morning and I don’t see torrential rain I’m going to cancel my TV subscription and put my TV on FB marketplace.

Like Southpaw said.....

The forecast is this......

"light rain or no rain during the game. However heavier rain during the day and in the hours leading up till kickoff"

Cheers

I just can’t pull myself around to pull trigger on unders. The overs punter in me just visualises DMac and Stevenson cutting it up in the wet.

Will have to think of another way to get involved in the Friday game.

Found my main strike for weekend -

Force v Highlanders - over 57.5 pts @ 5/6

I expected a line in mid 60s. Both sides play attacking rugby, day kick off, warm and dry.

Going max bet on this.

Didn’t catch the 57.5 , would you still go max bet 58.5 ? Amy other fancies for SR ? I fancy overs in the chiefs game , going against the grain

Line at 55.5 for chiefs now, I don’t know, feels like a trap either way.

Can see this game ending with 70 points or 40.

Have cashed out my unders play and will root for the overs.

Big absences for UBB (Boniface, Gray, Bochaton, Gazzoti, Deporteere, Biarrey and Jalibert and Retiere doubts) but Ulster a couple as well (Baloucoune and Hume).

Looks like value on Ulster +24.5

Its a Friday bet so I fully expect to lose either way ... :-)

EDIT: yup, when a team has tries denied and fails to score 5M out then you know your overs is f@cked .....

Super rugby double :

-Fiji Drua +8.5, 1.55 / Western Force to win 1.60. Pays 2.48, 2 units.

All action includes extra time.
While Fiji is not liked by some of my methods and systems. I will side with them, as I priced this game with the crusaders 1.67. Bookies came out with 1.42. That was all before team news. Team news is pretty ordinary for the crusaders.

The Western Force are liked by most of my methods and systems this week.

Confidence low after Lions poor showing, couldn’t even get myself up for a bet on earlier games today.

Over 57.5 @ 10/11 blues canes.

My day heavily depends on overs later in Perth, if that goes south it will be pain.

Amazing how quick your form can turn. 2 bets 2 losses so far this weekend. Blues and canes execution really poor.

Heavily invested in overs in Perth. Don’t often go max bet but committed on Thursday and if no try fest early I will be in trouble.

Such a long time since had a punt on Ruggers, but I like Bayonne S/U. Bulls have flattered to deceive on occasions and have not been the best travelers in URC, so going to take them on today.

Could be way off the mark but French teams if I remember are always hard to beat at home and even there 2nd teams are normally tough.

Enjoy the ruggers

apologies if anyone followed on overs. If it’s gives you any comfort that was my single biggest losing bet of year. gave back so much hard worked profits from recent weeks. Bitterly disappointed in my form this morning.

Tail between my leg for rest of weekend. Not sure if have stomach to get back on horse or stay away for another day.

Wow Connacht, if you honestly believe the bet lost because he "jinxed" it by saying it looks good, then you've got bigger problems to worry about.

It sucks enough losing a big bet after it getting off to a good start, so maybe calm down and keep the name calling to yourself.

We're all here to post our fancies and support.

Now let's go make some money

It was 10-17 when I commented bro.
Lay off your Guinness and calm down ;-) , it's not my fault if these two incompetent teams can't score in 28+ minutes, especially WF against a red carded team ...
