Popped back to sunny Margate for a 40th on the weekend, and got talking to an old mate I used to go up to Spurs with. He summed Tottenham's season up perfectly by saying " We've seen Spurs get smashed 100's of times, but you could tolerate it cause they tried. Not only do this lot not care, but they don't even hide the fact that they don't care. You're basically paying stupid money to be mugged off for 90 mins ". They can't afford to go into the second leg with anything other than a win, so I expect them to actually try for once and look to almost put the tie to bed. Team selection in the league suggests they are fully focused on this ( makes sense ), so there's absolutely no excuses now. If they can't put a shift in now, they never will.

Books have this as a low scoring match. Neither of these managers believe they will get away with a 1-0. We get a goal in the first half here and there are 4+ goals in this match. I also believe Stokes is spot on with his take on the Spurs match.

Spurs and ManU fielding much weakened sides so just a few beers for me. Looking at the ManU side Mount gets the Fernandez role so the most likely goal scorer if we get any. Taking one in the Spurs match too. He did score against West Ham in the home match.
