The latest Goodforthegame newsletter penned by @BrentGraham with best bets for the 28th to 30th August including South Africa vs New Zealand international rugby and the Currie Cup
I watched the South Africa v New Zealand Test at a braai last week, and it was amazing to see how the mood went from buoyant at halftime to downright depressed after the game.
My bet was under 58.5 points, and I at least banked that, but I was still really hoping the Boks could get the win so it was a bitter-sweet result.
The series is now brilliantly set up, and we've already had plenty of drama this week, with a referee change and Handre Pollard being declared unfit to start at 10.

Weekend Plays
This is a weekend I'm really looking forward to, but there's nothing that really stands out for me on the betting front.
I'm probably going to get involved in Currie Cup points lines more than handicaps, and while I will have a bet on the Bok game, the current lines of South Africa -7.5 and total points at 51.5 look pretty well set.
Stormers XVIII to get their bonus point!
After some deliberation, I've decided to put up a bet on the opening Currie Cup game this evening between the Lions and Stormers XXIII.
There's been money for the Lions, who have moved from -3.5 to -6.5, but I fancy the Stormers here. The way I read the log, both teams need a win and would certainly want a four-try bonus point as well, so I think this could be quite an open game.
Bet: 3 units (1–5) – Stormers over 3.5 tries at 15/20 with PokerBet.

An almost 12/1 Rugby Acca
I'm interested to see that Australia have now been backed into favourites against Argentina, possibly because Argentina are missing some of their top players. However, they've picked a group that largely gave South Africa a good run a few weeks ago, and I think they could beat Australia. They will form part of my rugby accumulator.

The accumulator works out at just under 12/1 and includes:
- Bulls under 22.5 points at 0.93/1
- Cheetahs to win at 0.87/1
- South Africa -5.5 v New Zealand at 15/20
- Argentina to beat Australia at 21/20
Bet: 0.5 units (1–5) – Four-leg accumulator at 11.95/1 with World Sports Betting.

Work is starting to slow down nicely on this Friday afternoon. I’m going to put my feet up on the couch now to watch a bit of cycling, where Pogacar continues to dominate the Vuelta, before settling in for a double-header of Currie Cup rugby.
Enjoy your weekend, everyone.
