Winning Form selections for Fairview on Friday 16th January where there are huge prizes available in the free to enter @Hollywoodbets Punters Challenge
RACE 1
Six of the seven runners in this contest are first timers and the betting market will be the best guide. FYFIELD LEGEND is having his first outing in the Eastern Cape after two runs in the Western Cape. It must be noted that Champagne Castle has come out and won again since. His debut effort over 800m in the Non-Black Type Futurity Plate was encouraging. With racing experience on his side, he may find himself in the winner’s enclosure.
U S RANGER is a son of Act Of War from the powerful Alan Greeff yard with stable jockey Richard Fourie up. If not in need of the experience, he should start his career on a positive note.
MASTER MTOTO hails from the Dean Smith stable and he is a son of Real Gone Kid. Craig Zackey is booked to ride and if not too green in running, he should produce a positive showing.
RACE 2
ROCKIE BLUE was a beaten odds-on favourite over this distance on the polytrack. She should have finished closer that day as she hung outwards in the final 300m. The well-related daughter of Heavenly Blue may be at her best on this surface. She gets the tongue-tie fitted for the first time which may do the trick. With her sex allowance, she should give the males a run for their money.
RIVER FERN has finished second in his last three starts. It must be noted that the form of his last outing has been franked. He is likely to race on the speed and if keeping on a straight line, he may be hard to peg back.
ATLANTIC PEARL ran a good race when second over this C&D last time. Andrew Fortune rides on her return and if not in need of the outing, she should be involved at the finish.
RACE 3
ALL SYSTEMS GO ran a good race when third in the Grade 2 Jackpot City Dingaans at Turffontein last time. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won a Grade 1 since. The son of Gimmethegreenlight will love the drop back to 1400m. He is the best-weighted runner in this contest and should take a power of beating.
BUFFALO BILL was super-impressive when winning his last start over this distance on the polytrack. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. The son of Buffalo Bill Cody has class about him and may be the one to fill the exacta spot.
ROYAL KINGDOM is a winner of his last three starts. It must be noted that the horse that finished fourth in his last outing has come out and won since. He is likely to be switched off early and in this small field, he should be involved at the finish.
RACE 4
LADY LIMONCELLO has shown improvement in her last two starts over this distance, on the Highveld. It must be noted that the form of her last outing has been franked. She gets the blinkers fitted on her stable debut. If settled into her new surroundings, she may be the one to beat.
OCEAN FLAME stumbled leaving the start over this distance on the polytrack last time, but stayed on to finish second. If getting away to a clean beginning, she should be competitive.
AMANATTO has finished second in her last four starts. She stayed on at the finish last time but was no match for Intro. The daughter of Danon Platina is back on the turf and merits obvious consideration.
RACE 5
Trainer Dean Smith holds a strong hand in this contest and can saddle the first two past the post. DANISH DYNAMITE was an easy winner of her last start over this C&D. She showed good speed, found another kick and won with a ton in hand. The daughter of Erik The Red returns from a well-deserved 11- week break. She has a lot of class about her and can notch up the hat-trick.
SONG OF MYSELF won a good race in the Non-Black Type Speedsters Stakes last time. She returns from a 19-week break which would have done her the world of good. Calvin Habib steps back into the saddle and if fit, she can go close.
HOT SAUCE returns from a 15-week break/suspension. The time off the track would have done her the world of good. The daughter of Canford Cliffs looks to have ability and she cannot be discounted.
Race 6
SILENT TRIGGER ran a good race when third over this distance on the polytrack last time. He received a bump leaving the start, but raced from a handy position and stayed on at the finish. The son of Twice Over gets the services of Andrew Fortune, and carries a handy galloping mass of 54kgs. With a bit of luck in running, he can notch up his fourth-career victory.
DAS GUTE was running on when third over 1400m on the polytrack last time. It must be noted that Chocolate Bomb has come out and won again since. 2.5kgs claiming Apprentice Jacey Botes retains the ride, and the combination merit healthy respect.
FLASH LIGHTNING is better than his last two starts. All three of his career victories have come on this course. He is likely to be settled near the rear of the field and will be mowing down the frontrunners.
RACE 7
ENCHANTING CHOICE finished 0.8 lengths behind SPLICETHEMAINBRACE last time. She is 2kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. The daughter of Rafeef is unbeaten from two starts on this course. She gets the services of Andrew Fortune and can return to winning ways.
STRAWBERRY THIEF hails from the visiting James Crawford stable. She was not disgraced when fifth in the Grade 3 1Voucher Victress Stakes last time. If all went well with her travels, she should pose a threat.
HOERIKWAGGO is a winner of her last two starts over 1400m, the latest of which was on the polytrack. The daughter of Canford Cliffs steps up to the mile and if seeing out the extra distance on offer, she can bring up the hat-trick.
RACE 8
HOLLANDIA BAKKERIJ followed up his maiden victory with a good second-place finish over this distance on the polytrack. He may have cost himself winning that day as he hung inwards in the closing stages. If taking to the turf track, he may find himself in the winner’s enclosure in this field.
SUPREME JUDGE finished 2.5 lengths behind the top choice last time. He is 1.5kgs worse off at the weights today and may have to settle for the same result.
THUNDER MASTER ran on strongly after a slow start last time. It must be noted that Teerex has come out and won again since. His record on this course is an obvious concern, but he is in a good space and cannot be discounted.
RACE 9
KING OF VICTORY ran a good race when third over 2200m on the polytrack last time. He was sent to the front and stayed on at the finish. The son of Pathfork won his maiden over this C&D. Andrew Fortune is likely to adopt the same tactics this afternoon and the combination may be hard to peg back.
SESAME found one too good in the form of Welsh Starlet last time. She jumps from pole position on her track debut. If taking to this course, she should give the males a run for their money.
GARDEN SUN finished 0.25 lengths behind the top selection last time. He is 1kg better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating the pair at the finish. Chase Maujean may be able to get the best out of him where it matters most
