Winning Form selections for Fairview on Friday 5th December where there are huge prizes available in the free to enter @Hollywoodbets Punters Challenge
RACE 1
GREY WARRIOR ran a creditable race when second over 1600m on this course last time. He was slow into stride, but ran on well at the business end. The son of Heavenly Blue steps up to 2200m and the blinkers have been removed. If jumping on terms, he can shed his maiden tag in this line-up.
PICK A POMODORO was a tad disappointing in his last start over 1900m on the polytrack. His three efforts prior to that outing were decent. It is encouraging that Luyolo Mxothwa steps back into the saddle, and he is one of the leading contenders.
FORT IMPREZA hails from the visiting Greg Ennion stable. He has been disappointing in his last two starts. His effort when third over 2000m at Hollywoodbets Durbanville was encouraging. Muzi Yeni retains the ride and if taking to the polytrack, he would not be a shock winner.
RACE 2
WITCHING HOUR is having her first outing for the Zietsman Oosthuizen stable. She is better than her last start on the Turffontein Inside course. It must be noted that the horse that finished fourth that day has come out and won since. Muzi Yeni is booked to ride and if settled into her new surroundings, she can shed her maiden tag.
GIMME THE BEST returns from a 12-week break and is having his first run for the Dean Smith camp. The son of Gimmethegreenlight carries a handy galloping mass of 54.5kgs and if taking to the surface, he can show good improvement.
CITY OF PORT LOUIS showed good improvement when second in his first start for the Cliffie Miller stable. The son of Gimmethegreenlight will enjoy the rise to 1600m and he can go one better.
RACE 3
VIRGIN RIVER is the best bet on the programme. She was given a well-timed ride when winning her local debut over this distance on the turf. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. The 6yo mare should have no issues with the polytrack and should follow up with another victory.
UNCONQUERABLE LADY fought hard when second over 1400m on this course last time. The daughter of Danon Platina has won over this distance previously. She jumps from pole position and may be the one to fill the exacta spot.
SWEETIE DARLING is better than her last two outings in feature races. Her last victory came over this C&D. On best form shown, she would not be a shock winner.
RACE 4
RIVER FERN should have finished closer to the winner last time as he hung inwards in the final 250m. The son of Rafeef is a progressive type and 4kgs claiming Apprentice Bavish Soodoo retains the ride. He is likely to race on the speed and if keeping on a straight line, he may be the one to beat.
TIMELINE fought hard when second over 1000m last time, but found one too good in the form of Jet Querari. The daughter of One World carries a handy galloping mass of 53kgs thanks to the services of Apprentice Sifisokuhle Bungane. She jumps from pole position and should throw out a big challenge to the top choice.
ALESIAN BEAU finished 4.25 lengths behind the second choice in his local debut. He is 7kgs worse off at the weights today and may battle to turn the form around. The booking of Luyolo Mxothwa is a big plus.
RACE 5
COASTAL PATH has good consistent form lines to his credit. He was running on when third over this distance on the turf last time. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. Two of his five career victories have come on this course. He carries a handy galloping mass of 54.5kgs and from his good draw of three, he may be the one to beat.
RIVERSTONE finished 0.75 lengths behind the top choice last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and there should not be much separating them at the finish.
NELSON BAY tried hard when second in his local debut over 1400m on this course. Craig Zackey retains the ride and a repeat of that effort should see him involved at the finish.
Race 6
WILD FIG received a bump leaving the start last time, but ran on well to finish second. The son of Fire Away was touched off in his penultimate run over this C&D. He has cracked a good draw of three and can notch up his second-career victory.
KING RAHUL was an easy winner of his last start over this C&D. He finished 1.75 lengths behind the top choice in his penultimate outing. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and he may have to settle for the same result.
CHEERFUL CHARLIE B has fair recent form lines to his name. The return to the polytrack is a concern, but he has dropped to a competitive rating and should be doing his best work at the finish.
RACE 7
BRENDEN JAMES is much better than his last start in the Listed Betway Algoa Cup. He finished 2.25 lengths behind BINGWA in his penultimate outing. He is 5.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. He has won twice and finished third once from five starts over this C&D. S’manga Khumalo does duty and on best form shown, he would not be a shock winner.
BINGWA tried hard when second behind Mercantour in the Non-Black Type Nelson Mandela Bay Racing Poly Challenge last time. The 8yo gelding always gives of his best and merits healthy respect.
GUY GIBSON ran on well when winning his last start over 1400m on this course. He has finished second twice and third twice from six starts over this distance. The son of Lancaster Bomber is likely to be settled near the rear of the field and will be mowing down the frontrunners.
RACE 8
THREE CHEERS finished strongly when winning her last start over 2200m on this course, with ease. She was given a two-pound penalty for that victory. Apprentice Girish Dookhit takes the 4kgs off her back which will assist her cause. She is in a good space and with a bit of luck from her awkward draw of eight, she can follow up with another victory.
GINGER DELIGHT finished 3.25 lengths behind the top choice last time. She is 2.5kgs worse off at the weights today and may have to settle for the same result. The daughter of Canford Cliffs may be ideally suited to this type of distance.
BACK FOR MORE is much better than her last start over 2400m on the turf. Richard Fourie steps back into the saddle and on previous form, she should be involved at the finish
