RACE 1
The betting market will be the best guide with regards to the unraced entrants. CHEEKY CRANBERRY is an unraced daughter of Gimmethegreenlight from the Alan Greeff stable with Richard Fourie in the saddle. If not in need of the run, she should start her career on a positive note.
FRENCH ROMANCE is a daughter of One World from the Juan Nel yard with Chad Little doing duty. She is related to five-time winner Paris Lass. If not too green in running, she should produce a positive effort.
SOMBREUIL is better than her last start against male company as she was reported to be changing strides. She finished 0.05 lengths behind TANZANITE in her penultimate outing. She is 5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned.
RACE 2
MISSOURI FLAME showed improvement in her first outing in the Eastern Cape. She received a bump and had to be steadied at the start. The daughter of The United States is a progressive type and if taking to the polytrack, she should have more to come.
MIO DESTINO lacked a finish over 1200m last time. His penultimate run when third over 1300m on this course was encouraging. Should the top choice fluff her lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.
BUGLE is having his first run as a gelding. He also gets the blinkers fitted which should keep his mind on the task at hand. The son of Rafeef has scope and if taking to the polytrack, he should have a say in the outcome of this contest.
RACE 3
OH MANDY finished 1.25 lengths behind ROYAL MISSY last time. She is 2.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. She has finished second once and third five times from seven starts over this C&D. Malesela Katjedi steps back into the saddle and she may be rewarded for consistency.
ROYAL MISSY tried hard when second over this C&D last time. She is having her peak run and will be cherry-ripe. She is the stable elect with Chad Little doing duty and merits inclusion.
ROYAL MERMAID showed signs of needing her local debut over 1200m. The daughter of Potala Palace will enjoy the rise to 1600m and she can improve to finish in the placings.
RACE 4
WILD FIG is better than his last start behind Golden Palm. He finished behind Anotherdanceforme in his penultimate outing. The son of Fire Away won his maiden over 1400m on this course. He is having his peak run today and should be cherry-ripe. Richard Fourie steps back into the saddle and he may be hard to peg back.
ROTOTO finished 1.65 lengths behind KING RAHUL last time. He is 4kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. The son of Danon Platina is the stable elect with Chad Little up.
KING RAHUL is a winner of his last two starts on this course. He received a three-pound penalty for his last victory. The son of Captain Of All is in a good space and merits healthy respect.
RACE 5
FIERY COUNTESS lacked a finish when fourth over 1000m on the turf last time. She won a good race over this C&D in her penultimate outing. The daughter of Fire Away is well-weighted and jumps from pole position. She is one of the better bets on the programme.
BAIE MOOI is better than her last start as she was reported to be not striding out. She won her first two career outings over this C&D. She will strip much fitter and is one of the leading contenders.
SPEED RACER finished 0.75 lengths behind HAIR TRIGGER last time. He is 5.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. He is likely to race on the speed and may be hard to peg back.
Race 6
HALCYON showed some signs of a form return in his local debut over 1000m on the turf. He was slow into stride but stayed on at the finish. The son of Gimmethegreenlight will enjoy the rise to 1200m and should strip much fitter. He is the stable elect with Richard Fourie in the saddle and if taking to the polytrack, he can go close.
TINTAMARRE is unbeaten from three starts on this course. He received a five-pound penalty for his last victory over this C&D. The son of Fire Away is in the form of his life and merits healthy respect.
DONNY TEE has finished fourth in his last three starts. He is back in a Handicap and with luck in running, should finish in the placings.
RACE 7
EYJAFJALLAJOKULL ran a good race when third in the second leg of the Non-Black Type Nelson Mandela Bay Racing East Cape Poly Challenge last time. He raced from a handy position and stayed on at the finish. Calvin Habib is booked to ride and he may be able to coax that little bit extra out of him where it matters most.
GOLDEN LINK finished 0.75 lengths behind the top choice last time. He is 3kgs worse off at the weights today and may have to settle for the same result.
WECANGOALLNIGHT was slow into stride in the third leg of the Non-Black Type Nelson Mandela Bay Racing East Cape Poly Challenge last time. He has won twice, finished second twice and third once from nine starts over this distance. He is the stable elect with Richard Fourie in the saddle, and merits obvious consideration.
RACE 8
ROLL OF THE DICE is better than his last start as he was reported to be not striding out. His form prior to that outing was consistent. He has won three times and finished third once from five starts over this C&D. The son of Flower Alley jumps from pole position and if getting his own way in front, he may be hard to peg back.
GEORGE HANDEL was running on when second over 2400m on the turf last time. He won a good race in his penultimate outing over 1800m on this course. He does have a wide draw to overcome, but gets the services of Richard Fourie who will give him all the necessary assistance from the saddle.
JUAN CARLOS got up late when winning his last start over this distance on the turf. He finished second in his only attempt over this C&D. The 8yo gelding is in a good space and merits healthy respect
