Winning Form selections for @Hollywoodbets Greyville on Sunday 18th January where there are huge prizes available in the free to enter Punters Challenge
Race 1
HAMMERHEAD has improved with each outing. He was running on when third over 1400m on this course last time. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. He will love the step back up to the mile and if not too far out of his ground turning for home, he may find himself in the winner’s enclosure.
RED CARDINAL stayed on strongly when third over this distance on the polytrack last time. He finished 1.15 lengths behind the top choice in his penultimate run. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and he may have to settle for the same result.
BOURBON‘S BEAST challenged strongly last time, but found one too good in the form of Christmas Cactus. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. The son of Buffalo Bill Cody merits healthy respect.
Race 2
ROLLO THE VIKING ran a cracker when second in the Non-Black Type WSB Grand Heritage last time. The manner in which he finished off his race that day was eye-catching. It must be noted that the form has been franked. The son of What A Winter won his previous two efforts under 4kgs claiming Apprentice Dezahn Louw. He should get a good run in transit from pole position and is the horse to beat.
GIMMEFABULOUS should have finished closer to the winner last time as she hung inwards in the final 150m. Keagan de Melo is booked to ride, and she should give the males a run for their money.
GOLDEN RULE is a winner of his last two starts, the latest of which was over this C&D. The son of Canford Cliffs has work to do at the weights, but he is in a good space, and can bring up the hat-trick.
Race 3
PSYCHE is the best bet on the programme. She caught the eye when third on debut over this C&D. The daughter of Gimmethegreenlight found betting support that day which suggests that she was showing good work at home. She would have gained from the experience and against her own sex, she should take a power of beating.
SIYABAMBELELA raced green around the turn on debut over 1200m, but finished her race off strongly. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. She would have come on from the run and will love the rise to 1400m. With the natural improvement that is expected, she should pose a threat.
THOUGHT CONTROL has finished second in both her efforts over this distance. She is a progressive type and with Keagan de Melo retaining the ride, she should go close.
Race 4
This is a competitive Class 4 contest for the girls and caution is advised. The tentative first choice is CALL ME JANE from the Andre Nel stable. She was running on after an awkward start over this trip on the polytrack last time. She has won once and finished second once from as many starts over this C&D. If getting away on terms from pole position, she may be the one to beat.
ARVERNI PRINCESS kept finding to win her last start over this distance at Hollywoodbets Scottsville. She has won three times and finished third once from six starts over this C&D. She does take on stronger, but carries a light mass and may be up to the task at hand.
MILLION VOICES ran a fair race over this distance on the polytrack last time. She would have come on from the run and should strip much fitter. The daughter of Vercingetorix can earn another cheque.
Race 5
FATE OF FORTUNE has good recent form lines to his name. He moved up like a winner over this C&D last time before getting outrun late by Agrado. The son of Master Of My Fate meets a similar line-up this afternoon, and can go one better.
SMORGASBORD finished 2.05 lengths behind the top choice last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and he may have to settle for the same result.
CHARA SANDS finished 2.45 lengths behind the top selection in the race referred to above. The pair meet on the same weight terms and he may battle to turn the form around. The 7yo gelding will be mowing down the frontrunners.
Race 6
JAZZ FESTIVAL finished 2.1 lengths behind NUMZAAN last time. He is 3.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. He has won three times, finished second once and third twice from ten starts over this C&D. If not too far out of his ground turning for home, he can return to winning ways.
NUMZAAN had his own way in front when winning his last start over this C&D. He received a four-pound penalty for that victory. He is in a good space and may be hard to peg back once again.
GREEN GLOW stayed on at the finish after a slow start over 1800m on the polytrack last time. The son of Gimmethegreenlight won his maiden over this C&D with ease. He is likely to be settled near the rear of the field from the wide draw and will be mowing down the frontrunners.
Race 7
MOUNTAINSOFTHEMOON ran a fair race against stronger company over 1750m at Hollywoodbets Scottsville last time. She has won once and finished second once from four starts over this C&D. The daughter of Pathfork takes a drop in class and Craig Zackey may be able to get the best out of her where it matters most.
FLYING REIGN STORM kept finding to win her last start over this distance on the polytrack. She is in a good space and if getting her own way in front in this line-up, she can follow up with another victory.
THE GHOST has been campaigning against stronger company. She is having her peak run today and should be cherry-ripe. The daughter of Danon Platina drops in class and despite her big mass, she may find a form return.
Race 8
HAPPY FORTUNE has good consistent form lines in Class 4. She lost two lengths leaving the start last time, over raced and was in a wide position on the turn. She has won twice and finished second three times from eight starts over this distance. The daughter of Pathfork is having her peak run today and with Keagan de Melo in the saddle, she can notch up her third-career victory.
SIBERIAN WINTER is a winner of her last two starts, the latest of which was over this C&D. She is in a good space and can bring up the hat-trick.
PROM QUEEN was given a well-timed ride when winning her last start over 1600m on this course. She does prefer further, but is in a good space and cannot be discounted
