Race 1
GRAND FORCE finished 2.3 lengths behind SENOR RESFRIO last time. He is 4kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. He finished third in his only attempt over this C&D. He may be the one to side with in this field.
SENOR RESFRIO showed speed over this distance at Hollywoodbets Scottsville last time before getting outrun late. He has been gelded since that outing which may have done the trick.
PINETTI has been costly to follow in his last two starts. He returns from a 14-week break which may have done him the world of good. Rachel Venniker takes the 1.5kgs off his back which will assist his cause.
Race 2
XIPHOS ran an improved race when fourth over this C&D last time. He finished 0.95 lengths behind SOVEREIGN COMMAND that day. He is 1kg better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating the pair at the finish.
SOVEREIGN COMMAND should have won his last start as he hung outwards in the final 100m. Sean Veale retains the ride and he is one of the leading contenders.
QUINCY TOWN ran a fair race over 1600m on this course last time. He returns from a 16-week break. Tony Rivalland and Jabu Jacobs are in fine form and the combination cannot be ignored.
Race 3
CAPRICIOUS MISS showed massive improvement when second over this C&D last time. She lost a length leaving the start and stayed on at the finish. She has cracked pole position and in this field, she can go one better.
PENAN NOM showed improvement when fifth over 1000m at Hollywoodbets Scottsville last time. She should love the rise to 1400m and may have more to come.
ADA LOVELACE ran a fair race over 1200m at Hollywoodbets Scottsville last time. She is a progressive type and should love the extra 200m on offer. With a bit of luck from the widest draw, she can finish in the placings.
Race 4
NEXT OF KIN should have won his first start as a gelding as he hung inwards in the final 350m. He would have come on from the outing and will strip much fitter. He should be ideally suited to 1600m and despite carrying top weight, he can go one better.
TAKEYOURBESTSHOT has finished second in his last three starts. He raced from a handy position over this C&D last time and tried hard all the way to the line. Marco van Rensburg is likely to go forward on him and the combination may be hard to peg back.
BINGELELAMZALWANE was disappointing over 1400m on the turf last time. He ran a fair race when fourth over 1400m at Hollywoodbets Scottsville in his penultimate outing. Apprentice Jacey Botes takes the 2.5kgs off his back which will assist his cause.
Race 5
EL REY VIENE has good recent form lines to his credit. He set the pace over 1750m last time and stayed on to finish third. He has won once and finished second once from as many starts over this C&D. His last victory came under Sean Veale and the combination may find themselves in the winner’s enclosure.
RUN TO RIO won a game race over this distance at Hollywoodbets Scottsville last time. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. From pole position, he should pose a massive threat.
SEND ME stayed on when sixth over 1400m on this course last time. He has won once and finished second twice from four starts over this distance. He will be mowing down the frontrunners.
Race 6
SPECTACULAR stayed on at the finish over this C&D last time. He finished 2.35 lengths behind STAR OF THE FUTURE that day. He is 5kgs better off at the weights and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. He has cracked a good draw of two and may be the one to side with.
STAR OF THE FUTURE won a game race over this C&D last time. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. He is in a good space and merits healthy respect.
THE WOLF finished 0.15 lengths behind the second selection in the race referred to above. He is 0.5kgs better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating the pair at the finish.
Race 7
PREEMPTIVE STRIKE has not finished too far off the winner in recent outings. He stayed on when fourth over this C&D last time. Five of his six career victories have come over this C&D. If not too far out of his ground turning for home, he can notch up his seventh-career victory.
SUPER FAST has finished second in his last four starts. Mxolisi Mbuto takes the 2.5kgs off his back, and if not in need of the run, he may be hard to peg back.
INTREPID stayed on when fifth over 1000m on this course last time. He drops in class and with a bit of luck in running, he can go close.
Race 8
RAINBOW REWARD set the pace over this C&D last time before getting outrun late by Isikwishikwishi. He finished 2.6 lengths behind BOURBON WARRIOR in his penultimate outing. Race 9
YANNAKIS showed good speed when winning his last start over this distance at Hollywoodbets Scottsville. It must be noted that the horses that finished second and third have come out and won since. The cheekpieces seem to have done the trick and he can follow up with another victory.
LOU LOU THE LEGEND produced a typical second run after a rest last time. He has won once, finished second once and third twice from six starts over this C&D. If finding the form of his penultimate run, he should pose a threat.
MASK ON should have finished closer last time as he had to be eased at the 250m mark. He drops in class and with luck in running, he can cause the upset
