SWEET GREEN produced a promising debut effort over this C&D. She raced from just off the pace, moved up before getting caught late by Catwalk King. The daughter of Gimmethegreenlight would have gained from the experience and with the natural improvement that is expected, she can go one better.
HERO’S JOURNEY took time to find his feet on debut over this C&D, but ran on well to finish second. The son of Heavenly Blue would have come on from the run and is one of the leading contenders.
PREACHER MAN was in need of her debut effort over this C&D in the Non-Black Type Charles Dickens Stakes. She would have come on from the run and Aldo Domeyer steps into the saddle. With the natural progression that is expected, she should be involved at the finish.
Race 2
This is a weak Maiden Plate and caution is advised. The tentative first selection is SWIFT SERENITY from the Michelle Rix yard. She stayed on when fifth over 1200m on this course last time. The daughter of Captain Of All drops to 1000m and the blinkers should sharpen her up. In this field, she can shed her maiden tag.
FAST TRAIN was disappointing in his last start over 1600m. He returns from a 13-week break which would have done him the world of good. The drop to 1000m may be ideal and he should pose a threat.
MRS SHACKLETON has faced winners in her last two starts. She is still a maiden after 27 starts but on best form shown, she can earn a cheque in this line-up.
Race 3
CANTONA produced a promising debut effort over 1200m on this course. She was slow into stride and finished off her race strongly. The drop to 1000m is an obvious concern, but with the natural improvement that is expected, she should be competitive.
SECRET TACTIC is an unraced son of Vercingetorix from the Andre Nel stable with Serino Moodley booked to ride. His mother, The Secret Is Out was a Grade 1 winner over 1200m. If not in need of the run, he should start his career on a positive note. The betting market will be the best guide with regards to his chances.
FLEUR DE VILLE is still a maiden after 20 starts. Her last two outings over this C&D have been fair. If jumping on terms, she can earn another cheque for her patrons.
Race 4
FERRYMAN produced a promising debut effort over 1200m on this course. He lost a length leaving the start and finished off his race well. The son of Vercingetorix would have gained from the experience and should love the rise to 1400m. With a bit of luck from his wide draw, he should find himself in the winner’s enclosure.
CEDAR POINT’S last three starts have been fair. He returns from a 12-week break, during which time he was gelded. The son of Vercingetorix is back in Maiden Company and may be the one to fill the exacta spot.
WHATWILLBEWILLBE has run two fair races to date. He stayed on to finish fourth over this distance last time. He has cracked pole position and can finish in the placings.
Race 5
POMP IT UP was given a peach of a ride when winning his last start over 1200m. He returns from a well-deserved 11-week break which would have done him the world of good. The son of Danon Platina should love the rise to 1400m. He looks to be above average and can notch up his third-career victory.
VIVA’S LIBERTE returns from a 13-week break, during which time he was gelded. He won his penultimate outing over this distance at Hollywoodbets Durbanville. If not in need of the run, he should be involved at the finish.
PLEASE BE TRUE has not finished too far off the winner in recent outings. Andrew Fortune is booked to ride and he may be able to coax that little bit extra out of him where it matters most.
Race 6
CATCH A PENNY has good consistent form lines to her credit. She stayed on when fourth over 1200m last time. She finished 0.8 lengths behind RATTLESNAKE in her penultimate outing. She is 4kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. She will be mowing down the frontrunners.
RATTLESNAKE challenged strongly last time but found one too good in the form of Palace Gift. He has won twice, finished second three times and third once from 11 starts over this C&D. He should be the first male past the post.
MOODY BLUE was running on when second over this distance at Hollywoodbets Durbanville last time. Andrew Fortune steps into the saddle and he cannot be discounted.
Race 7
NORTH POINT showed speed over this C&D last time before getting caught late by Demanding Dave. He would have come on from the outing and should strip much fitter. JP van der Merwe retains the ride and the combination may find themselves in the winner’s enclosure.
EMPIRE STATE finished 0.4 lengths behind the top choice last time. He is 0.5kgs worse off at the weights and may have to settle for the same result.
GOLD GIBOSKI finished 0.1 lengths behind the top selection in the race referred to above. He is 1kg worse off at the weights today and may battle to turn the form around.

KAMCHATKA is the top bet on the programme. She was not disgraced when fourth in the Grade 3 1Voucher Victress Stakes last time. Her penultimate run when second behind Legal Counsel in the Grade 3 Cape Mile, catches the eye. She has won three times and finished second three times from seven starts over this distance. Serino Moodley steps into the saddle and she is the horse to beat.
EDUCATOR won a good race over this distance at Hollywoodbets Durbanville last time. She is a filly with some class about her and merits healthy respect.
BOOZY SUSIE finished 1.25 lengths behind the second selection last time. She is 1kg worse off at the weights today and may have to settle for the same result.

ALLTHEBOYSIVELOVED showed signs of a form return when fourth over 1200m last time. The manner in which she stayed on at the finish was encouraging. She is having her peak outing and will love the rise to 1400m. Despite her big mass of 62kgs, she can notch up her third-career victory.
DREAM SEARCHER won a good race over this C&D last time. She received a five-pound penalty for that victory. She is in a good space and merits healthy respect.
SUPREME FATE finished 2.75 lengths behind the second selection last time. She is 2.5kgs better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result.
Race 10
FLYING SOUTH was not disgraced when third over 1000m at Hollywoodbets Durbanville last time. She has placed in both attempts over this trip. The daughter of What A Winter steps up to 1400m and the blinkers have been removed. She drops back in class and may be hard to peg back.
BLACK PATH won a game race over 1500m at Hollywoodbets Durbanville last time. She is in a good space and can follow up with another victory.
