Winning Form selections for racing from the Vaal on Thursday 18th September where there are huge prizes available in the free to enter @Hollywoodbets Punters Challenge
Race 1
Seven of the eleven runners in this contest are first timers and the betting market will be the best guide. MME HUNTRESS is a daughter of Vercingetorix from the Mike and Mathew de Kock stable and Craig Zackey does duty. If not in need of the run, she should start her career on a positive note.
RED SECRET is a daughter of Erik The Red from the Lucky Houdalakis stable and Chase Maujean is booked to ride. She is related to four-time winner Willy Meet Again. If not too green in running, she should give a good account of herself.
PALACE SCRIPT hails from the Phillip and Jeannique Vermeulen stable and she is a daughter of Futura. She is related to five-time winner Blackburn Roc. Raymond Danielson rides and if not in need of the run, she should produce a positive showing.
Race 2
MIAMI MOUNTAIN produced a promising debut effort over 1000m on the Turffontein Inside course. He was slow into stride but the manner in which he finished off his race was eye-catching. The son of Canford Cliffs would have gained from the experience and should love the rise to 1200m. With the natural improvement that is expected, he can go one better.
TRAJANUS has finished second in both his efforts to date. He showed speed over 1000m at Turffontein last time, but found one too good in the form of Alpine Jet. He returns from a 12-week break and if not in need of the run, he may be the horse to fill the exacta spot.
WAYNE is an unraced son of Vercingetorix from the Lucky Houdalakis yard with Chase Maujean booked to ride. He is related to two-time winner Moraine. If not in need of the run, he should start his career on a positive note. The betting market will be the best guide with regards to him and the other unraced entrants.
Race 3
ETHICAL has decent form lines to her credit. She raced from a handy position over 1800m on this course last time and stayed on to finish third. She meets the right field and with a bit of luck from the widest draw, she can shed her maiden tag.
FRANGIPANI stayed on when fourth over 1500m on the Classic course last time. She is having her peak run today and from pole position, she should pose a threat.
NKWENKWEZI is better than her last two starts. She finished third in her only attempt over this C&D. The daughter of Erupt jumps from a good draw of two and on best form shown, she should have a say in the outcome of this contest.
Race 4
MY LUCKY CHARM is the best bet on the programme. He produced a promising debut effort over 1450m on the Classic course. He jumped inwards leaving the start, but the manner in which he stayed on at the finish was encouraging. The son of Master Of My Fate will love the rise to 1700m and with the natural improvement that is expected, he should be the one to beat.
OLYMPIAN GOLD has finished second in his last two starts, the latest of which was over 1600m on this course. If keeping on a straight line, he should be competitive.
TRIP TO PEACE finished 0.7 lengths behind the second selection last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and there should not be much separating them at the finish.
Race 5
EIGHT HATS finished 1.05 lengths behind WILLOWILD last time. She is 2.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. The daughter of Hat Puntano should have no issues with the rise to 1400m. She has scope and can return to winning ways.
WILLOWILD lost a length leaving the start last time and stayed on to finish fourth. She would have come on from the run and should strip much fitter. The daughter of One World will be mowing down the frontrunners at the finish.
CLAIRWOOD ROSE tried hard when third over 1200m on the Turffontein Inside course last time. She carries a handy galloping mass of 54kgs with Muzi Yeni in the saddle and merits healthy respect.
Race 6
LUCKY LAD returns from a 25-week break which would have done him the world of good. He has won twice and finished second once from as many starts over this distance. This outing will bring him on for future races, but he is the class horse and can return to winning ways.
CHASING HAPPINESS has good recent form lines to her name. She has won three times, finished second once and third once from six starts over this distance. Should the top choice fluff his lines, she may be the one to pick up the pieces.
PISTOL PETE is better than his last start in the Grade 2 Golden Horse Sprint as he was reported to be not striding out. He finished 2.05 lengths behind the second choice in his penultimate run. He is 1kg better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result.
Race 7
FRANCINE lacked extra late over the mile on the Turffontein Inside course last time. She has won twice from three starts over this C&D. She is drawn on the outside of the course and if putting her best foot forward, she can return to winning ways.
FRANCILIEN has good consistent form lines to her credit. It must be noted that the horse that finished third in her last outing has come out and won since. She has won twice and finished second once from four starts over this C&D. She will strip much fitter and is one of the leading contenders.
CARE FORGOT returns from a 25-week break and is having her first run for Sean Tarry. She is better than her recent form suggests and can show improvement.
Race 8
VERSACE ONTHETRACK followed up her maiden win with an equally impressive victory over 1160m at Turffontein. She returns from a 14-week break, during which time she would have strengthened up. If not in need of the outing, she can bring up the hat-trick.
MALIBU had excuses in the Grade 3 TAB Pretty Polly Stakes last time. She returns from a 21-week break, during which time she would have strengthened up. The daughter of The United States has scope and she should have a say.
RED AMBER has not finished too far off the winner in recent outings. It must be noted that the horse that finished second in her last outing has come out and won since. The daughter of Erik The Red will be mowing down the frontrunners
