If not in need of the experience, she should start her career on a positive note. The betting market will be the best guide with regards to her chances.
BOLD SKITT has shown improvement since joining the Jacques Strydom stable. She carries a light mass of 52kgs and from her good draw of three, she should have a say in the outcome of this contest.
RACE 2
PLAY ACT showed good signs of a form return when second over this C&D last time. He ran on strongly under Blaine Marx-Jacobson that day. It must be noted that the horse that finished third has come out and won since. He is having his peak run and if confirming his recent improvement, he can go one better.
ACTION AMERICA is better than his last start as he was reported to be coughing. His form prior to that outing was fair. The booking of Richard Fourie is a big plus and should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.
SUSURRANDO has consistent form to his name. It must be noted that Blame It On Me has come out and won again since. The son of Captain Of All merits healthy respect.
RACE 3
TIME HONORED stayed on when fourth over this C&D last time. The son of Querari is having his peak run and should be cherry-ripe. He is likely to be settled near the rear of the field and will be mowing down the frontrunners. In this type of field, he can shed his maiden tag.
TWICE A QUEEN has shown improvement in each of her efforts to date. The daughter of Twice Over tries the mile and if seeing out the extra distance on offer, she should pose a big threat.
RARE EARTH raced from a handy position over 2000m last time, but found one too good in the form of Camden Square. She drops back to the mile and in this field, she can finish in the placings.
RACE 4
CHATTERBOX is lightly raced with good form to her credit. She raced from a handy position over this C&D last time, but found one too good in the form of Carnival. The daughter of Canford Cliffs is likely to race on the pace from her good draw of two and may be hard to peg back.
WISE COUNSEL showed improvement in her first start for the Jacques Strydom stable. The daughter of Fire Away would have come on from the run and should strip much fitter. She does have an awkward draw to overcome, but gets the services of Kyle Strydom who will give her all the necessary assistance from the saddle.
RHYTHM has good consistent form to his name. He set the pace over this C&D last time before getting caught late by Kwagga Blitz. He is in a good space and should be the first male past the post.
RACE 5
This is a competitive Merit Rated 67 Handicap and caution is advised. The tentative first choice is CAPTAIN CLEVER from the Dean Smith stable. He may have cost himself winning last time as he hung inwards in the final 300m. He jumps from a good draw of two and if keeping on a straight line, he may find himself in the winner’s enclosure.
ATLANTIC PEARL ran a good race when second over this C&D last time. She returns from her nine-week break/suspension. The blinkers seem to have done the trick and with luck in running, she should go close.
SAY A PRAYER made the expected natural improvement when winning her last start over this C&D. She returns from a 23-week break, during which time she would have strengthened up. The daughter of Real Gone Kid takes on stronger, but she has scope and should be up to the task at hand.
RACE 6
MAKHACHEV has good consistent form to his credit. He raced from a handy position over 2000m on the turf last time and tried hard all the way to the line. It must be noted that Wild Fig has come out and won again since. Muzi Yeni knows him well and the combination may find themselves in the winner’s enclosure.
WORLD CHOICE won a good race over 2200m on this course last time. He received a six-pound penalty for that victory. He is in a good space and it would be no surprise to see him follow up.
SABRAGE finished 1.35 lengths behind MASTEROFTHEBAROQUE last time.
RACE 7
FANTINE finished strongly when winning her last start over this C&D, last week Sunday. She had to overcome the widest draw that day. The daughter of Hawwaam is in a good space and if this run has not come too soon, she can follow up.
AQUARIUS is unbeaten from two starts for the Kelly Mitchley stable. It must be noted that the horse that finished third in her last outing has come out and won since. Should the top choice fluff her lines, she can notch up the hat-trick.
LADY BOMBER produced a strong finish when winning her last start over 1400m on this track. She has won twice and finished second once from four starts over this distance. She should get a good run in transit from Barrier Two and must be considered.
RACE 8
BLOOD OF EDEN stayed on when sixth over 1400m on this course last time. The daughter of Heavenly Blue is having her peak run today and should enjoy the rise to 1600m. She jumps from a good draw of four and if not too far out of her ground turning for home, she can cause a surprise.
ALEX MILLER has good consistent form to her credit. She took the lead at the 100m mark last time before getting caught late by My Ami Beach. The daughter of Gimmethegreenlight always gives of her best and merits healthy respect.
POTENZA finished 1.3 lengths behind the second selection last time. She is 1kg better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result
