RACE 1
TIPSY returns from a 14-week break which would have done her the world of good. The daughter of Trippi is lightly raced with fair form to her credit. She will enjoy the return to the turf and if fit, she can shed her maiden tag.
YOU’RE MY ANGEL has shown improvement in each of her outings to date. She did not go on with the effort over 1400m on the polytrack last time. The drop to 1200m may suit her well. She carries a handy galloping mass of 52kgs and is one of the leading contenders.
DELAROCHE’S last two starts have been moderate. The daughter of Vercingetorix returns to the turf and Richard Fourie steps back into the saddle. On best form shown, she would not be a shock winner.
RACE 2
NIGHT IN JAPAN was touched off in her last start over this distance on the polytrack. The blinkers have been removed as she took a keen hold last time. The daughter of Danon Platina is back against her own sex and if switching off early, she can go one better.
EXPLOSIVE GIFT is better than her last start as she was reported to be coughing. She finished second in her two previous outings. She has her first run on this turf track and on best form shown, she should pose a massive threat.
GUTSY BABY stayed on when third over 1600m on the polytrack last time. The daughter of Vercingetorix will love the rise to 2000m. She is carded to race on 01 July 2026 and her progress in that race will need to be monitored.
RACE 3
IM THE BUZZ should have finished closer to the winner last time as she hung inwards in the final 200m. The 6yo mare finished third in her only attempt on this course. Apprentice Bavish Soodoo takes the 2.5kgs off her back which will assist her cause. She jumps from a good draw of three and should give the males a run for their money.
SLIVER OF SUNSHINE should have finished closer last time as he had to be steadied at the 300m mark. The son of Gimmethegreenlight should be ideally suited to this distance. Richard Fourie steps back into the saddle and with luck in running, he should be the first male past the post.
BLACKBERRY BREEZE finished 0.85 lengths behind the second selection last time. He is 1kg worse off at the weights today and may have to settle for the same result.
RACE 4
MADE TO MEASURE is the top bet on the programme. She was touched off in her local debut over 1600m on the polytrack. The daughter of Fire Away drops to 1400m and meets the right field. She will enjoy racing on the turf and should take a power of beating.
FONTE’S last two starts have been good. She stayed on when fourth over 1400m on the polytrack last time. The daughter of Gimmethegreenlight is a progressive type and with luck in running, she may be the one to fill the exacta spot.
BURNING DESIRE returns from a 10-week break and is having her first outing for the Juan Nel stable. She gets the services of 4kgs claiming Apprentice Bongani Makhubo which will assist her cause. If settled into her new surroundings, she should have good improvement to come.
RACE 5
OBSIDIAN STAR set the pace in the Listed Lady’s Slipper Stakes last time, but found one too good in the form of Marchland. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. The daughter of Hawwaam takes on older rivals, but she has ability and should be up to the task at hand.
CHERRY OH BABY stayed on when fifth over 1300m on the polytrack last time. She has won once, finished second twice and third once from five starts over this distance. She is back against her own sex and should go close.
ONCIDIUM was an easy winner of her last start over this distance on the polytrack. She received a seven-pound penalty for that victory. She gets the services of 2.5kgs claiming Apprentice Girish Dookhit which will assist her cause. She is in a good space and merits healthy respect.
Race 6
NORTH STAR was touched off in her last start over 1400m on the polytrack. She raced from a handy position and tried hard all the way to the line. She has won once, finished second once and third once from five starts on this course. Jockey Xolani Ndlovu retains the ride from the inside draw. The daughter of Erik The Red may be rewarded for consistency.
HOT SAUCE is better than her last start in the Listed Milkwood Stakes as she had excuses. She has won once and finished third once from three starts over this C&D. The daughter of Canford Cliffs is having her peak run and on best form shown, she should fight out the finish.
MYSTICAL BUTTERFLY followed up her maiden win with a creditable fourth-place finish over 1200m on the polytrack. If taking to this track, she should have a say.
RACE 7
ROMAN AGENT is much better than his last start over 1200m on the polytrack. He finished 0.1 lengths behind JOKER MAN in his penultimate outing. He is 2.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough to turn the form around. He has won twice, finished second once and third once from as many starts over this C&D. Apprentice Bavish Soodoo takes the 2.5kgs off his back and the combination should find themselves in the winner’s enclosure.
JOKER MAN has consistent form to his name. Richard Fourie knows him well and he is one of the leading contenders.
CHAMPONELLE finished 0.5 lengths behind BLACK EGRET last time. He is 6kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough to turn the form around.

HONORINE’S GIMMIE has good form since arriving in the Eastern Cape. He found one too good in the form of Bourne Supremacy last time. The son of Gimmethegreenlight shed his maiden tag over this C&D. He jumps from an inside draw of two and may be the one to beat.
TRAVEL MASTER stayed on when second over 1000m on the polytrack last time. The fitting of the blinkers seems to have had the desired effect. Should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.
GREEN PLANET was given a peach of a ride when winning his last start over 1400m on the polytrack. He received a three-pound penalty for that victory. The son of Gimmethegreenlight is in a good space and cannot be discounted
