Race 1
BREATH OF LIFE ran a fair race on debut over 1200m at Hollywoodbets Scottsville. She took time to find her feet, but stayed on to finish fourth. The daughter of Pathfork would have gained from the experience. She should have no issues with the drop to 1000m and with the natural improvement that is expected, she can go close.
NOTHING COOLER returns from a lengthy 72-week break. She finished third over this distance on the polytrack last time. The daughter of New Predator has shown that she has ability and if fit, she should give a good account of herself.
QUEEN’S BOUNTY found one too good in the form of Abbey’s World over this C&D last time. If confirming her recent improvement, she should have a say in the outcome of this contest.
Race 2
ROY’S RANI produced a promising debut effort when third over 1200m at Hollywoodbets Scottsville. She raced from a prominent position and stayed on at the finish. The daughter of Rafeef would have come on from the run and should enjoy the extra 200m on offer. With the natural improvement that is expected, she may be the one to side with.
FLORAL KINGDOM found one too good in the form of Pennys Choice last time. She has finished third on this course previously and from her good draw of two, she should pose a threat.
MAGICAL SPRING was caught late when second over 1600m at Hollywoodbets Scottsville last time. The daughter of Willow Magic drops back in trip and if getting her own way in front, she may be hard to peg back.
Race 3
CLEVER KID is the top bet on the programme. He challenged strongly over 1600m at Hollywoodbets Scottsville last time, but was touched off by Wo Zai. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. The son of Real Gone Kid should have no issues with the rise to 2000m and with luck in running, he can shed his maiden tag.
SLIGHTLY MO showed good improvement when fourth over 1600m on this course last time. The daughter of Royal Mo should love the rise to 2000m and with Keagan de Melo up, she may have more to come.
FUTURE PROSPECT did not go on with the effort on the polytrack last time. She finished second over this C&D in her penultimate outing. The daughter of Futura is likely to race on the pace and can earn another cheque.
Race 4
SWIATEK finished off her race strongly when fifth in the Grade 2 Betway Joburg Spring F & M Challenge last time. The daughter of Pomodoro steps back up to the mile. Keagan de Melo is likely to settle her in behind runners and if not too far out of her ground turning for home, she can notch up her fourth- career victory.
GRAND OCCASION won a good race over this C&D last time. She received a four-pound penalty for that victory. The daughter of Danon Platina is in a good space and merits healthy respect.
MISS TWINKLE finished 2.6 lengths behind the second selection last time. She is 1.5kgs better off at the weights this evening and should finish closer as a result.
Race 5
VIXENS WAR finished 0.3 lengths behind AMC ROY‘S FANTASY last time. She is 0.5kgs better off at the weights this evening and there should not be much separating the pair at the finish. She has produced two good runs for Darryl Moore and if taking to this track, she may be the one to beat.
AMC ROY’S FANTASY was given a peach of a ride when winning her last start over this distance on the polytrack. She received a four-pound penalty for that victory. With a bit of luck in running, she can follow up.
SILVER SALUTE finished 2.1 lengths behind the second selection last time. She is 2kgs better off at the weights and should finish closer as a result. The daughter of Vercingetorix has cracked pole position which is a big plus.
Race 6
PRIZED POSSESSION followed up his maiden victory with a creditable fourth-place finish over 1400m on this course. He raced wide around the turn that day, but the manner in which he stayed on at the finish was encouraging. The son of Vercingetorix will love the rise to 1600m and should strip much fitter. Keagan de Melo will do duty and the combination merit healthy respect.
SENSEI OF SPIN made the expected natural improvement when victorious over 1400m on this course last time. The son of Hawwaam is a progressive type and with Callan Murray retaining the ride, he should go close.
REIGN MAN was an easy winner when shedding his maiden tag over this distance at Hollywoodbets Scottsville last time. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. He takes on stronger, but has scope and should give a good account of himself.
Race 7
CATS PAJAMAS is better than his last two runs. He returns from a 14-week break which may have done him the world of good. He has won twice, finished second once and third twice from nine starts over this distance. Three of his six career victories have come on this track. He gets the services of a 4kgs claiming Apprentice and if fit, he can find a form return.
LION RAMPART challenged strongly over 1000m at TAB Vaal last time, but found one too good in the form of Echo Check. He is in a good space and with luck in running, he should go close.
POSITION OF POWER has top recent form to his name. He returns from a well-deserved 12-week break. The son of Vercingetorix always gives of his best and he can notch up the hat-trick.
Race 8
MAPHAKA is a winner of his last three starts, the latest of which was over this C&D. It must be noted that the horse that finished second in that effort has come out and won since. The son of Gimmethegreenlight is in a good space and despite his big mass of 62.5kgs, he can notch up his sixth- career victory.
KALAHARI ROLLER found one too good in the form of City Of Love last time. The son of New Predator carries a handy galloping mass of 51.5kgs. With a bit of luck from his awkward draw, he should be competitive.
KLEIN KAROO challenged strongly over 1400m on this course last time, but found one too good in the form of Nordic Chief. The drop in trip is an obvious concern, but he is in a good space and cannot be discounted.
RACE 9
GLOBAL TREND is unbeaten from two starts over this distance at Hollywoodbets Scottsville. The daughter of Red Ray returns from a 35-week break, due to injury. She clearly has class about her and if fit, she can remain unbeaten.
ANUSHKA finished 0.6 lengths behind ARVERNI PRINCESS last time. She is 1.5kgs better off at the weights this evening and that should be enough to turn the form around. She is having her peak run and if getting away on terms, she should be competitive.
ARVERNI PRINCESS showed speed when winning her last start over this C&D. The daughter of Vercingetorix is in the form of her life. If getting her own way in front once again, she can follow up
