Winning Form selections for @Hollywoodbets Scottsville on Sunday 9th August where there are huge prizes available in the free to enter Punters Challenge.
Race 1
SCOTT‘S BAR ran a fair race when sixth over 1400m at Hollywoodbets Greyville last time. It must be noted that multiple horses from that form line have come out and won since. The son of Malmoos returns from a 10-week break, during which time he was gelded. He is a horse with scope and in this field, he may be the one to side with.
TIPPERARY is better than her last start as the jockey reported something to be amiss in running. She finished second in her three previous efforts. Keagan de Melo is booked to ride and he may be able to coax that little bit extra out of her where it matters most.
THEODORE ROOSEVELD hails from the visiting Alec Laird stable. He was reported to be not striding out over 1600m last time. The son of What A Winter drops back to 1200m and in this line-up, he should have improvement to come.
Race 2
ROCCO‘S PEACE has shown improvement in each of his efforts to date. He stayed on when third over 1400m last time. The son of Declaration of peace will strip much fitter. He is a progressive type and unless one of the first timers have ability, he should find himself in the winner’s enclosure.
XIPHOS returns from a 15-week break, during which time he was gelded. His form prior to his last outing was creditable. The booking of Keagan de Melo is a big plus and the combination cannot be ignored.
DIAVAL is an unraced son of Master Of My Fate from the Mike Miller stable with Tristan Godden doing duty. He is related to multiple winners including Handsome Prince and Merryweather. If not in need of the run, he should start his career on a positive note. The betting market will be the best guide with regards to him and the other unraced entrants.
Race 3
HOP HOP SPINNEKOP was unlucky not to have won her last start over 1500m on this course. The daughter of Flower Alley won her maiden over this distance, three runs ago. It is encouraging that Sean Veale steps back into the saddle and if switching off early, she may be the one to beat.
TAYLOR‘S VERSION finished 0.6 lengths behind the top selection last time. She is 2kgs worse off at the weights today and may have to settle for the same result.
HEAVENLY MAFIA finished 1.35 lengths behind the top choice in the race referred to above. She is 1.5kgs worse off at the weights today and may battle to turn the tables. She is carded to race on 07 August 2026 and her progress in that race will need to be monitored.
Race 4
JUDICIARY caught the eye when second on debut over this C&D. He lost a length leaving the start, understandably raced green but finished off his race strongly. The son of Legislate would have gained from the experience. He is likely to be settled near the rear of the field and will be mowing down the frontrunners. With the natural improvement that is expected, he may be the one to beat.
DREADNOUGHT produced an encouraging debut effort over 1200m on the Vaal Classic course. He would have come on from the run and should love the rise to 1600m. If all went well with his travels, he should fight out the finish.
DEONARIE has finished second in his last three starts. The son of Querari should enjoy the extra furlong on offer. If switching off early, he should have a say in the outcome of this contest.
Race 5
PARISIAN WALKWAY hails from the visiting Alec Laird stable. He set the pace over this distance at Turffontein last time, but found one too good in the form of Money Heist. He finished third in his only attempt over this C&D. The son of Ideal World is the best-weighted runner and should take a power of beating.
CAPTAIN WEST stayed on when sixth over this distance at Hollywoodbets Greyville last time. He is having his peak run today and should be cherry-ripe. Should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.
POWERANDTHEGLORY was given a peach of a ride when winning his last start over 1400m on the polytrack. The son of Gimmethegreenlight tries the mile and if seeing out the extra distance on offer, he can follow up.
Race 6
MISTER NIBBLES stayed on when fourth over 1400m on this course last time. The fitting of the cheekpieces seems to have done the trick. The manner in which he finishes off his races suggests that he will enjoy the rise to 1750m. Apprentice Qiniso Ngcobo takes the 4kgs off his back which will assist his cause. From his good draw of two, he may be the one to side with.
JAZZ FESTIVAL should have finished closer last time as he hung inwards in the final 200m. He returns from a 13-week break and drops in class. If not in need of the run, he should be involved at the finish.
RUN TO RIO stayed on when fourth over 1400m on the polytrack last time. He has won twice, finished second once and third twice from nine starts on this course. With luck from the widest draw, he should be competitive.
Race 7
SCARLET MACAW is the top bet on the programme. She took her chances in the Grade 1 Ridgemont Garden Province Stakes last time. She has won once, finished second once and third twice from nine starts over this distance. She is the class horse in this class and from her good draw of three, she should return to winning ways.
LIMITLESS SKY showed some signs of a form return over this C&D last time. She gets the services of 2.5kgs claiming Apprentice Dezahn Louw which will assist her cause. The daughter of Lance would not be a shock winner.
MISS LADYATERIX kept finding to win her last start over this distance on the polytrack. She received a four-pound penalty for that victory. She may get her own way in front from the widest draw and may be hard to peg back.
Race 8
CLAIR DE LUNE set the pace over 1200m on the polytrack last time before getting caught late by Thought Control. She has finished second twice from three starts over this distance. Keagan de Melo rides and he may be able to coax that little bit extra out of her where it matters most.
SCARLET STARLET finished 1.4 lengths behind the top selection last time. She is 0.5kgs better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result. She is having her peak run and should be cherry-ripe.
ARVERNI PRINCESS is a winner of her last two starts over this C&D. She received a three-pound penalty for her last victory. 4kgs claiming Apprentice Qiniso Ngcobo retains the ride, and she can notch up the hat- trick
