Winning Form selections for racing from the Vaal on Thursday 10th September where there are huge prizes available in the free to enter @Hollywoodbets Punters Challenge
Race 1
PISTA RESISTANCE ran a good race when third over this distance on the Turffontein Inside course last time. She showed good speed before getting outrun late. The daughter of Chimichuri Run would have come on from the run and should strip much fitter. The tongue-tie may do the trick and she has a solid winning chance.
SHIRAZ GLOW showed good improvement when third over 1000m on the Classic course last time. She was reported to be not striding out that day. If confirming her recent improvement, she should pose a threat.
BELLFLOWER should have finished closer last time as she hung inwards in the final 200m. The daughter of Flower Alley is a progressive type and if keeping on a straight line, she may have more to come.
Race 2
TWO TIGERS was unlucky not to have won his last start over 1000m as he had to be switched for running room at the 200m mark. He has finished second once and third twice from five starts over this trip. He meets the right field and with luck in running, he can go one better.
SMOKING GUN finished 1.85 lengths behind the top selection last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and he may have to settle for the same result.
MULHOLLAND DRIVE was a tad disappointing in her last start over this distance at Hollywoodbets Scottsville. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. Her debut effort when third over 1000m on this course, catches the eye. She has scope and must be considered.
Race 3
TROMPE L’OEIL‘S last start is best ignored as he was reported to be not striding out. He won a good race over 1000m on the Classic course in his penultimate outing. Gavin Lerena steps back into the saddle and if this run has not come too soon, he can return to winning ways.
CHARMING CHEETAH took his chances in the Listed Betway Spring Spree Stakes last time. The blinkers are re-fitted. He has class about him and on best form shown, he should pose a massive threat.
HIS MAJESTY returns from a 32-week break, has been gelded and has his first outing for the Stuart Pettigrew stable. The imported son of No Nay Never showed some promise in his first South African outing and if fit, he may have improvement to come on the Highveld.
Race 4
ONE EYE ON DUBAI produced a promising debut effort over 1200m on the Turffontein Inside course. He showed signs of needing that outing and would have gained from the experience. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. The imported son of Almanzor steps up to 1700m and if not too green around the turn, he should make the natural progression.
IMYOURHUCKLEBERRY has shown improvement in his last two starts. The son of Time Thief will love the rise to 1700m and he is one of the leading contenders.
MIDNIGHT SHOW finished 0.2 lengths behind the second selection last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and there should not be much separating them at the finish.
Race 5
INTO DANCING is the top bet on the programme. She was running on when third over 1600m at Turffontein last time. The daughter of Ideal World won her only attempt over this distance. 1.5kgs claiming Apprentice Blaine Marx-Jacobson knows her well and she can notch up her fourth-career victory.
FIRE IN HER SOUL finished 2.3 lengths behind the top selection in her penultimate outing. She is 2.5kgs better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating the pair at the finish.
FRANGIPANI has good recent form to her name. She set the pace over 2000m on the Classic course last time, but found one too good in the form of subsequent winner Art Nouveau. Muzi Yeni steps back into the saddle and the combination merit healthy respect.
Race 6
ON A JET PLANE showed a good turn of foot when winning her last start over 1450m on the Classic course. She received a nine-pound penalty for that victory. The daughter of Bezrin is in a good space and can follow up. She is carded to race on 03 September 2026 and her progress in that race will need to be monitored.
EIGHT HATS stayed on when fourth over 1600m on the Classic course last time. She should have no issues with the extra 100m on offer and with luck in running, she should pose a threat.
PRETTY ANALIA finished 4.8 lengths behind the second selection last time. She is 3.5kgs better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result.
Race 7
EUPHRATES ran on strongly when winning his last start over this C&D. He received a five-pound penalty for that victory. The son of Wings Of Desire hails from the in-form Tony Peter stable. He takes on stronger, but is in a good space and can follow up.
DARK SILVER stayed on when fifth over 1800m on this course last time. He finished 0.25 lengths behind CULTURATI in his penultimate outing. He is 0.5kgs better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating the pair at the finish.
CULTURATI produced a typical second run after a rest last time. He won his penultimate outing over 2000m at Turffontein in his penultimate effort. Gavin Lerena steps back into the saddle and on best form shown, he should have a say.
Race 8
MRS STORMIATRIX is better than her last start as the jockey reported something to be amiss in running. She won her penultimate outing over this distance on the Turffontein Inside course. She won her only attempt over this C&D. The daughter of Vercingetorix is back against her own sex and she may be hard to peg back.
TEMPRANILLO got the upper hand late when winning her last start over this C&D. She finished 2 lengths behind the top choice in her penultimate run. She is 1.5kgs better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result.
LOVE NOT WAR ran a good race when second over this C&D last time. She was reported to be fatigued that day. The daughter of Act Of War carries a handy galloping mass and should produce an honest performance.
Race 9
HEMISPHERE tried hard when second over this distance on the Turffontein Inside course last time, but found one too good in the form of Set To Music. That was his first outing for the Fabian Habib stable. Apprentice Girish Samo-Burthia takes the 2.5kgs off his back. He drops in class and if keeping on a straight line, he may find himself in the winner’s enclosure.
NKANDLA GOLD has good consistent form to his name. He has won once and finished third once from as many starts over this C&D. The 6yo gelding always gives of his best and merits obvious consideration.
TIME WILL TELL was running on when second over 1000m on the Turffontein Inside course. He drops back in class and can show. He is carded to race on 05 September 2026 and his progress in that race will need to be monitored
