Race 1 

PERIODIC TABLE produced a promising debut effort over 1160m at Turffontein. The son of Danon Platina was reported to be fatigued that day. He would have gained from the experience and with the natural improvement that is expected, he may be the one to beat.

HAMMER BLOW raced from just off the pace over this C&D last time, but found one too good in the form of Gunboat. Should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.

HURRICANE POWER has moderate form lines to her name. Her effort when third over this C&D, under Tshepiso Matsoele four runs ago catches the eye. She can give the males a run for their money.

Race 2

WHAT A WARRIOR followed up his maiden victory with a second-place finish over this distance at Turffontein. He found one too good in the form of Moana that day. The son of Erupt has ability and from pole position, he may find himself in the winner’s enclosure.

DEAR DOC finished 0.8 lengths behind the top choice last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and there should not be much separating them at the finish.

SHERIFF BILL BROWN showed a good turn of foot when winning his last start over 1400m at Turffontein. The son of Buffalo Bill Cody is a progressive type and should be involved at the finish.

Race 3

PRINCESS OF ALL showed good speed over this C&D last time before getting outrun late by Empress Wu. The daughter of Captain Of All would have come on from the run and should strip much fitter. She is likely to race on the speed and may be hard to peg back.

MASTER’S LADY raced from a prominent position over this C&D last time, but found one too good in the form of Wings Of Kildra. The daughter of Master Of My Fate may be rewarded for consistency under Diego De Gouveia.

SECRET LIFE tired late when fourth over 1160m at Turffontein last time. The daughter of Act Of War may enjoy the drop to 1000m. She is a filly with scope and can finish in the placings.

Race 4

JET CAT ran a fair race over this C&D last time. It must be noted that Time Is Precious has come out and won a Grade 3 since. The 10yo gelding always gives of his best and he can notch up his sixth- career victory.

INAFIX should have finished closer last time as he was inconvenienced at the 200m mark. Three of his five career victories have come over this distance. Marco van Rensburg may be able to coax that little bit extra out of him where it matters most.

ORIENTAL BOUQUET tired late over 1200m on this course last time. She finished 0.6 lengths behind the top choice in her penultimate run. She is 0.5kgs better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating the pair at the finish. She is carded to race on 07 May 2026 and her progress in that race will need to be monitored.

Race 5

VANAKKAM finished 1.6 lengths behind JUST THE TWO OF US last time. She is 2kgs better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating the pair at the finish. The daughter of Vercingetorix won her only attempt over this C&D. She is likely to race on the speed and may be hard to peg back.

JUST THE TWO OF US ran on powerfully when winning her last start over this distance at Turffontein. The cheekpieces did the trick. She is in a good space and merits healthy respect.

VERSACE ONTHETRACK finished 2.8 lengths behind the top selection last time. She is 1kg better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result.

Race 6

TAKING A RISK ran a good race when third over this distance at Turffontein last time. She looked a threat and stayed on at the finish. The daughter of Fire Away finished third in her only attempt over this C&D. She has dropped to a competitive rating and may be the one to beat.

JAZZ PIANIST finished 2.3 lengths behind the top choice last time. She is 0.5kgs better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result.

EIGHT HATS stayed on when second over 1200m on this course last time. She is back against her own sex and will be mowing down the frontrunners.

Race 7

DOITWITHDIAMONDS was not disgraced when fourth in the Grade 2 TAB Igugu Stakes last time. She finished second in her only attempt over this C&D. Apprentice Blaine Marx-Jacobson takes the 2.5kgs off her back and from pole position, she can notch up her sixth-career victory.

PALACE DANCER was given a peach of a ride when winning her last start over this C&D. She received a three-pound penalty for that victory. The blinkers have done the trick, she is in a good space and merits healthy respect.

DIMAKO’S JET is a winner of her last two starts, the latest of which was over this C&D. She returns from a well-deserved 14-week break. Craig Zackey is booked to ride on her return, and if fit, she can notch up the hat-trick.

Race 8

SCARLET O’HARA stayed on when third over 2000m at Turffontein last time. She was not disgraced when fourth in the Non-Black Type Ormond Ferraris Oaks Trial in her penultimate outing. The daughter of Red Ray has ability and will be doing her best work late from the wide draw.

ROSY LEMON has finished second in her last two starts. She has won once, finished second once and third once from six starts over this C&D. Serino Moodley is booked to ride and he may be able to coax that little bit extra out of her where it matters most.

KORTVANDRAAD followed up her maiden victory with a good third-place finish over 1400m at Turffontein. She returns from a well-deserved 10-week break. Mickaelle Michel takes the 1.5kgs off her back and if fit, she should be competitive
