Scotland

The Scots were 8.5 point underdogs for their Round 3 clash with England but they were unfortunate not to win the game. They eventually went down 16-15 but Finn Russell missed the conversion of a late Duhan van der Merwe try which would have given Scotland victory.

Scotland were given around 6.5 points start on the main handicap line for their clash with Ireland at Murrayfield in Round 2 but it was never enough as they went down 32-18. They opened their tournament at home to Italy in Round 1 and they eventually came out on top 31-19, short of the bookmakers main handicap line of around 17.5 points.

The Scots are in fourth place with 6 log points, 4 behind third placed England and 2 better off than fifth placed Italy and their chances of landing the title have all but eveporated.

Fixtures & Results: R1 Italy (h) won 31-19, R2 Ireland (h) lost 32-18, R3 England (a) lost 16-15, R4 Wales (h), R5 France (a)

Wales

After the departure of Warren Gatland Wales went into their Round 3 home fixture against Ireland as huge underdogs, given around 23.5 points start on the bookmakers main handicap line. They put in a much improved display and had an 8 point lead at one stage in the second half but Ireland fought back to come out on top 27-18 and their losing streak now stands at 15 test matches.

Wales went down 22-15 to Italy in Rome in Round 2, they trailed 16-3 at half time but scored 2 late tries to at least earn a bonus point from a match they had started as 6-5 point underdogs. In Round 1 Wales were given around 27.5 points start on the handicap for their clash with France in Paris but it proved nowhere near enough as they crashed and burned 43-0.

With just the 1 log point Wales are at the foot of the standings and in the outright betting markets with WSB Wales are currently 1/10 to finish with the wooden spoon

Fixtures & Results: R1 France (a) lost 43-0, R2 Italy (a) lost 22-15, R3 Ireland (h) lost 27-18, R4 Scotland (a), R5 England (h)
