turffonteintrackWinning Form selections for racing from Turffontein on Saturday 18th January where there are huge prizes available in the free to enter @Hollywoodbets Punters Challenge

Race 1

DUPONT EMERALD produced a promising debut effort when third over this C&D. She finished 0.2 lengths behind TIPPERARY that day and is 1.5kgs better off at the weights. The daughter of Querari would have gained from the experience and with the natural improvement that is expected, she should find herself in the winner’s enclosure.

GREAT NOTION has good recent form lines to her credit. She was reported to have choked up in running last time, but still managed to run a creditable third. The daughter of Danon Platina is a solid back-up for the Mike de Kock Team.

TIPPERARY showed good improvement in her last start over this C&D. She showed good speed, but found one too good in the form of Green Sapphire. If repeating that effort in this field, she can feature.

Race 2

WINDS OF CHANGE is the best bet on the programme. He is the highest rated maiden in South Africa. He was not disgraced when fifth in the Grade 2 Durban Golden Horseshoe last time. He returns from a 28- week break and makes his seasonal debut. The son of What A Winter is back in Maiden Company and with Gavin Lerena in the saddle, he should take a power of beating.

PAUL REVERE‘S last two starts have been fair. He is having his peak run today and will be cherry-ripe. The son of Erupt may be the one to fill the exacta spot.

KWAGGA BLITZ finished 1 length behind the second choice last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and there should not be much separating them at the finish.

Race 3

LET‘S GO NOW‘S last two starts have been good. She raced from a handy position in the Grade 2 Mike de Kock Ipi Tombe Challenge and tried hard all the way to the line. She has won twice, finished second once and third twice from eight starts over this distance. She is in a good space and may be the one to beat.

PARISIAN WALKWAY ran a fair race in the Grade 2 Betway Dingaans last time. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. He carries a handy galloping mass of 54kgs and is one of the leading contenders.

SLINKY MAPIMPI ran a fair race in the Non-Black Type WSB Grand Heritage last time. It must be noted that Pomodoro’s Jet has come out and won again since. He gets the blinkers fitted for the first time which should keep his mind on the task at hand.

Race 4

SPUMANTE DOLCE was an easy winner on debut over 1400m at the Vaal. It must be noted that multiple horses from that form line have come out and won since. The daughter of Vercingetorix takes on stronger but she could be anything, and can remain unbeaten.

DARK SILVER took the lead at the 400m mark last time, before getting outrun late by Bacchus. It must be noted that the horse that finished fourth that day has come out and won since. With a bit of luck in running, he should be the first male past the post.

KUDZU has finished second in his last three starts. He is having his peak run today and will be cherry-ripe. Gavin Lerena steps back into the saddle and the combination merit healthy respect.

Race 5

CAPTAINOFTHEGREEN is better than his last start in the Non-Black Type WSB Grand Heritage. He won his three outings prior to that run. The son of Gimmethegreenlight should have no issues with the rise to 1800m. Piere Strydom returns to the saddle and the combination may find themselves in the winner’s enclosure.

IMPERIAL MASTER has consistent form lines to his credit. Two of his six career victories have come on this course. Should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.

FORGIVENESS ran a fair race in the Grade 3 Allied Steelrode Yellowwood Handicap last time. She returns from an 11-week break which may have done her the world of good. If not in need of this run, she should give the males a run for their money.

Race 6

ONE PARTY took on male company in her last start over 1400m on this course. She finished third in both her efforts over this C&D. The daughter of One World is back against her own sex and from her outside draw, she can return to winning ways.

GREEN SAPPHIRE won a good race when shedding her maiden tag over this C&D. The daughter of Gimmethegreenlight takes on stronger, but she has plenty of scope and should give a good account of herself.

TAKE YOUR PLACE challenged strongly over 1000m last time, but found one too good in the form of Neerah. She meets a similar line-up this afternoon and must be included in all bets.

Race 7

ALMOND SEA has very good consistent form lines to her credit. She stayed on when second over 1000m on this course last time. She is having her peak run today and will be cherry-ripe. Gavin Lerena is booked to ride and the combination merit healthy respect.

RODEO DRIVE finished 2.9 lengths behind the top choice last time. She is 4kgs worse off at the weights today and may battle to turn the form around.

SORCERESS SUPREME was an easy winner in her last start over 1200m at the Vaal. She showed good speed, found another kick and drew clear of the opposition. She is in a good space and should be hard to peg back.

Race 8

VIRGIN RIVER has consistent form lines to her credit. She raced from just off the pace last time, tried hard but found one too good in the form of Night Vigil. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. She will strip much fitter and should give the males a run for their money.

THE NAVY LARK ran a fair race over 1200m on the Vaal Classic course last time. She has won twice, finished second once and third twice from ten starts over this distance. The daughter of Captain Of All is one of the leading contenders.

HALCYON won a game race at the second time of asking. He returns from a 35-week break, during which time he would have strengthened up. He could be anything and if fit, may follow up with another victory
