RACE 1

Trainer Kelly Mitchley holds a strong hand in this contest. GLOBAL REEF was not disgraced when fourth at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth last time. His penultimate run when second over 2000m on this course, catches the eye. Richard Fourie steps back into the saddle and if seeing out the extra distance on offer, he should be the one to beat. 

REPETITION hails from the visiting Justin Snaith stable. The son of Twice Over should enjoy the rise to 2400m and he has plenty of scope for improvement. 

BOMBER BAY finished 2.5 lengths behind the top selection last time. He is 1kg worse off at the weights today and may have to settle for the same result. The son of Lancaster Bomber is well-bred and with luck in running, he can show.

RACE 2

AMERICAN MATADOR showed good improvement when second in his local debut over 1600m on this course. He raced from a handy position, but found one too good in the form of Run The World. The son of The United States drops back to 1400m and in this field, he may be the one to side with. 

AMERICAN PITBULL has fair recent form lines to his credit. The manner in which he finishes off his races suggests that he will love the rise to 1400m. Xolani Ndlovu may be able to coax that little bit extra out of him where it matters most. 

ANCHOR MAN returns from a 14-week break, during which time he was gelded. The son of Vercingetorix may be at his best over further, but he can place in this line-up. 

RACE 3

MASTER FORESTER has good consistent form lines to his credit. He fought hard over 1600m on the polytrack last time, but found one too good in the form of Alado’s Pride. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. He has won once and finished third once from as many starts on this course. If keeping on a straight line, he should find himself in the winner’s enclosure. 

MEETATTHEWINDSOR finished 2.25 lengths behind the top selection last time. He is 2.5kgs better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating the pair at the finish. 

SILVER TYCOON‘S last three starts have been good. The obvious concern is that he may be at his best on the polytrack. Muzi Yeni is likely to use his early gate speed to overcome the awkward draw and he may be hard to peg back. 

RACE 4

GIMME MORE TIME has fair recent form lines in the Western Cape. His last victory came over 1600m on this course, on 26 July 2024. The son of Gimmethegreenlight has won his only attempt over this C&D. He jumps from a good draw of three and if all went well with his travels, he should be the one to beat. 

EL ROMIACHI cost himself leaving the start over 1600m on the polytrack last time. He gets the services of 4kgs claiming apprentice Jacey Botes which will assist his cause. If jumping on terms, he can return to winning ways. 

SLINGS AND ARROWS finished 5.25 lengths behind the second selection last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and he may have to settle for the same result. 

Race 5

LUNA HALO ran a fair race when fourth in the Non-Black Type November Stakes last time. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. She has won twice, finished second once and third once from as many starts over this C&D. The daughter of Fire Away is the class horse in this contest and should take a power of beating. 

RED SASH was an easy winner of her last start over this distance on the polytrack. It must be noted that multiple horses from that form line have come out and won since. She finished 2.25 lengths behind the top choice in her penultimate run. She is 1.5kgs worse off at the weights and may battle to turn the form around. 

AMONG THE CLOUDS has good recent form lines to her name. She has plenty of work to do at the weights, but brings good Western Cape form lines with her, and she cannot be ignored. 

Race 6

CATCH YOUR BREATH has won her last two starts with ease. She ran on well over 1400m on the polytrack last time and drew clear in the run down to the line. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. She received an eight-pound penalty for that victory. The daughter of Canford Cliffs is in a good space and can bring up the hat-trick. 

AS FATE HAS IT faced stronger in her last start over this distance on the polytrack. It must be noted that multiple horses from that form line have come out and won since. She drops back in class and is one of the leading contenders. 

VOLARE E MAMBO is having her first run for the Duncan McKenzie stable. It must be noted that Safe And Sound has come out and won again since. If settled into her new surroundings, it would be no surprise to see her in the winner’s enclosure. 

RACE 7

WORDSWORTH was caught late when second over 1200m on the polytrack last time. He finished 0.5 lengths behind MEDITERANEANGODDES in his penultimate run. He is 1kg better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. He won his only attempt over this C&D. If jumping on terms, he should notch up his fifth-career victory. 

CRUZADOR ran a good race when winning his last start over 1300m on the polytrack. He received a two-pound penalty for that victory. Should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces. 

MEDITERANEANGODDES is better than her last start as she refused to take the bend. She kept finding when winning her penultimate run over this distance on the polytrack. She is likely to race on the speed and cannot be ignored. 

RACE 8

MISS SHAIVI is better than her last start over this distance on the polytrack. She showed signs of needing that outing. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. The daughter of What A Winter drops in class, will strip much fitter and can return to winning ways. 

SHARAPOVA‘S last three starts have been good. She cost herself winning last time as she hung outwards in the final 400m. She is back against her own sex and if keeping on a straight line, she should be competitive. 

NO GREATER LOVE ran a good race when third over 1300m on the polytrack last time. She takes a slight drop in class and can earn another cheque for her patrons
