RACE 1
SWISS WALT has shown good improvement in his last two starts since joining the Sharon Kotzen stable. He was running on when third over this distance on the polytrack last time. It must be noted that Sirnihaallongsword has come out and won again since. The son of Twice Over tries the turf track and if suited, he may find himself in the winner’s enclosure
THE LADY LOVE ran a good race when third over 1000m on the polytrack. The daughter of Lancaster Bomber will enjoy the return to the turf and she should love the rise to 1200m. She should give the males a run for their money.
BRIDGERTON set the pace over 1300m on the polytrack last time, but was caught in the latter stages. The son of Visionaire is likely to race on the speed and he may be hard to peg back in the run down to the line.
RACE 2
SKY VELOCITY is having her first run for the Tara Laing stable. She is better than her last start on the Hollywoodbets Greyville polytrack. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. The daughter of Querari finished second in her four starts prior to that outing. She jumps from pole position and if settled into her new surroundings, she may be the one to beat.
CATCHUSIFYOUCAN hails from the visiting Justin Snaith stable. She did not finish too far off the winner before given a 21-week break. The daughter of Camelot is likely to be switched off near the rear of the field from her wide draw of ten and she will be mowing down the frontrunners.
FIERY CLIFFS was a beaten favourite in her last start over this distance on the polytrack. Her three starts before that outing were good. She has cracked a good draw of four and back against her own sex, she should go close to winning.
RACE 3
RENOWNED was a tad disappointing in his last start over this distance at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth. His penultimate run when finishing third over 1300m on the polytrack was encouraging. If putting his best foot forward, he can shed his maiden tag
REGAZZO GRANDE raced from a handy position over this distance on the polytrack last time, but found one too good in the form of Lord Milori. He does have the widest draw to contend with, but gets the services of Richard Fourie who will give him all the necessary assistance from the saddle.
MOHANDAS has finished third in his last two starts over 1300m. He has finished second once and third twice from five starts over this distance. The son of Quasillo has his first run on the turf track and if suited, he should have a say in the outcome of this contest.
RACE 4
TEATRO finished 0.25 lengths behind SLIM JANNIE last time. He is 2kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. He finished second in his penultimate start on this course. The son of Canford Cliffs should have no issues with the drop to 1000m and he can return to winning ways.
SLIM JANNIE is a winner of his last two starts. He got up where it matters most over 1200m on the polytrack last time. It must be noted that the horse that finished fourth that day has come out and won since. He is in a good space and with 54kgs on his back, he can notch up the hat-trick.
LEDELL‘S ECHO has good recent form lines to his credit. He has won twice, finished second three times and third twice from nine starts over this distance. He is likely to race on the speed and may be hard to peg back in the run down to the line.
RACE 5
DOUBLE CHECK has been disappointing in her last two starts at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth. The daughter of Twice Over is unbeaten from two starts on this course. She continues to drop in the ratings and if all went well with her travels, she should run a big race in this line-up.
SPIRIT OF SILVANO was his own worst enemy in his comeback run over 1800m on this course. It must be noted that the horse that finished fourth that day has come out and won since. He won his maiden over this C&D, three runs ago. The son of Silvano will strip much fitter and if switching off early, he should pose a massive threat.
LIGHT WITHOUT ran a good race when third over 2200m on the polytrack. He finished third in his only attempt over this C&D. With luck in running from the wide draw, he should have a say in the outcome of this contest.
Race 6
HEATHCLIFF was an easy winner of his last start over 2700m on this course. He was bumped leaving the start, but ran on well and won with a ton in hand. The son of Canford Cliffs settles well in his races and should have no issues with the rise to 3200m. Jockey Richard Fourie retains the ride from his good draw of three and he should notch up his fifth career victory
TOP QUALITY stayed on when third in the Grade 3 WSB Pocket Power Stakes last time. He finished third in his only attempt on this course. The son of Dynasty should have no issues with the rise to 3200m and he merits healthy respect.
JAEGER MOON finished 4.65 lengths behind the top choice last time. He is 1kg better off at the weights, which is not enough for the tables to be turned.
RACE 7
FAIRY KNIGHT won a good race in his last start over 1200m on the polytrack. He raced from a handy position, quickened up well and won going away. The manner in which he won that race suggests that he will love the rise to 1400m. The son of Global View jumps from pole position and should be the horse to beat.
UNDERWORLD won a good race in the Listed Somerset 1200 last time. He showed good pace and found more where it matters most. The son of Querari is likely to use his early gate speed to get across without using up too much energy and he may be hard to peg back in the run down to the line.
VISION OF WONDER finished 1.75 lengths behind the top choice last time. He is 2kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned
RACE 8
EYJAFJALLAJOKULL has produced two encouraging efforts since relocating to the Eastern Cape. He should have finished closer to the winner last time as he was awkwardly placed in the latter stages. The son of Erupt should enjoy the longer run-in on the turf and with a bit of luck in running, he may be the one to beat.
ALINGALONGA rallied late when second over 1600m on the polytrack last time. He is at his best on the polytrack, but is in a good space and must be included in all bets.
SECRET IS OURS finished 1.55 lengths behind the second choice last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and he may have to settle for the same result. The son of Dynasty won his only attempt on this course.
Race 9
BAUBLES AND BEADS should have finished closer to the winner over 1000m on the polytrack last time as she had to be checked for running room at the 700m mark and she was reported to be coughing post race. She finished third in her only attempt over this C&D. The daughter of Rafeef will strip a much fitter horse today and she can return to winning ways.
EXECUTOR showed pace over 1000m on the polytrack last time, but found one too good in the form of Mon Tresor. She is at her best over this distance and should go close to winning.
QUICK COUNT showed good speed when winning her last start over 1000m on the polytrack. She received a three-pound penalty for that victory. The daughter of Var is in a good space and must be included in all bets.
