Race 1

FENCING CAPTAIN has shown good improvement in his last two starts. He showed good speed over this C&D, last week Friday before tiring late. The son of Captain Of All would have come on from the run and should be at peak fitness. He jumps from a good draw of two and if this run hasn’t come too soon, he should be the one to beat.

DAWN TILL DUSK took the lead at the 400m mark last time before getting outrun late. He would have come on from the run and should strip much fitter. Should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.

BAGATELLE FLASH returns from a 13-week break, during which time he was gelded. The son of Gold Standard has decent form lines to his credit and if not in need of the run, he should be right there.

Race 2

MAI SENSATION produced an eye-catching debut effort over 1200m at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth. She was unlucky that day as she lost two lengths leaving the start and was unbalanced at the 300m mark. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. The daughter of Rafeef would have strengthened up and if not in need of this outing, she should take a power of beating.

KAMCHATKA ran a fair race on debut over this C&D. She would have gained from the experience and should make the natural improvement.

EXPEDITION SOUTH ran a fair race over 1000m last time. She returns from a lengthy 32-week break. The daughter of Futura should love the extra distance on offer and she may have more to come.

Race 3

MON PETIT CHERIE made the expected natural improvement when second over 1200m last time. She showed good speed but found one too good in the form of Maritzburg Memory. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. The daughter of Rafeef is a progressive type and if fit, she should find herself in the winner’s enclosure.

TIME IN PARIS ran a good race when fourth over this C&D last time, despite the saddle reported to have slipped in running. She is coming along the right way and should throw out a big challenge to the top choice.

OCTOBER FEST finished 3.5 lengths behind the top choice on debut. The well-bred daughter of Master Of My Fate would have gained from the experience and she should make the natural improvement.

Race 4

EMPIRE STATE produced a promising debut effort over this C&D. He understandably raced green, but the manner in which he finished off his race was eye-catching. The son of Rafeef would have gained from the experience and with the natural improvement that is expected, he should be the horse to beat.

LET IT BE SAID showed massive improvement when second over 1000m on this course last time. He took the lead at the 200m mark before getting caught late. He is coming along the right way and should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.

PALACE GIFT finished 5.25 lengths behind the second selection last time. He is 2.5kgs worse off at the weights today and may battle to turn the form around.

Race 5

SHIFTING PATH was not disgraced when fourth in Class 4 Company last time. The manner in which he stayed on at the finish that day was encouraging. The son of Pathfork drops back to Class 5 and with Luyolo Mxothwa back in the saddle, he may be the one to side with.

SPIRIT’S UNITE has good recent form lines to his credit. He stayed on at the finish over 1400m last time but found one too good in the form of Cloud Chaser. It is encouraging that Aldo Domeyer retains the ride and he is one of the leading contenders.

BENEATH THE MOON showed good speed when winning her last start over 1200m. She received a four-pound penalty for that victory. The daughter of The United States is in a good space and should give the males a run for their money.

Race 6

KAMAKAZI returned to winning ways over this trip. She set the pace that day and found more where it matters most. She returns from a 14-week break which would have done her the world of good. The daughter of Captain Of All jumps from a good draw of three and if not in need of this outing, she should follow up with another victory.

ICE RAIN ran a decent race over 1800m last time. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. She finished 4 lengths behind the top choice in her penultimate run. She is 2kgs better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result.

HAMPSTEAD HEATH is lightly raced with good form lines to her credit. She has won once, finished second once and third once from as many starts over this trip. She has ability and should have a say in the outcome of this contest.

Race 7

INNAMORARE finished 1.1 lengths behind SOLAR POWER last time. He is 2kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. He has won four times, finished second twice and third once from 12 starts over this trip. If getting away to a clean start, he can notch up his seventh-career victory.

SOLAR POWER won a good race in his last start over this trip. He received a four-pound penalty for that victory. He meets a similar line-up this afternoon and merits healthy respect.

ASPECT is a winner of his last four starts over this trip. He returns from a well-deserved 18-week break. If not in need of the run, he should be involved in the fight to the finish.

Race 8

ROCCAPINA shed her maiden tag in fine-style at the second time of asking over this trip. The daughter of One World returns from a well-deserved 11-week break. She does take on much stronger, but she is coming along the right way and should be up to the task at hand.

LOVE SHACK has consistent form lines to her credit. She moved up like a winner last time, but was outrun late. The daughter of Captain Of All is back against her own sex and she should pose a massive threat.

HEAR MY VOICE finished 1 length behind the second selection last time. She is 0.5kgs worse off at the weights today and may have to settle for the same result.

Race 9

O’TENIKWA was a beaten odds-on favourite in his last start over 1200m. He showed good speed but was outrun late by Shifting Path. The manner in which he races suggests that he should not have any issues with the drop to 1000m. Corne Orffer steps back into the saddle and if not in need of this outing, he should be hard to peg back.

KAIBOY raced in the Listed Somerset 1200 last time. He returns from a 13-week break, during which time he was gelded. The son of One World has plenty of scope and should have a say in the outcome of this contest.

SWIFT ACTION is better than his last start on this course. He has won once, finished second three times and third three times from twelve starts over this distance. On his previous form, he should be competitive
