sundowns1819Tuesday sees Orlando Pirates host Polokwane City in the Betway Premiership and Mamelodi Sundowns are at home to Marumo Gallants

Pirates v Polokwane City

Pirates made a winning start to the Betway Premiership although they made hard work of a 2-1 victory at home to Chippa. They fell behind midway through the first half and a penalty from Mabasa just before half time made it all square. The Bucs had to wait until stoppage time to find the winner from Saleng.

Pirates will be contesting the final of the MTN8 against Stellenbosch on the 5th of October. They saw off Supersport 3-1 in a MTN8 quarter final on home turf to set up a two legged semi final with Cape Town City. They drew the first leg 1-1 away from home and finished the job with a 2-0 win in Orlando. They have also been involved in CAF Champions League qualifying and they ran out 3-0 winners against Jwaneng Galaxy of Botswana across the two legs.

You have to go back to 2012 for Pirates last league title and you can get 33/1 with Betway about them landing it this season

Polokwane have made a perfect start to the new season, winning both their league matches to share top spot with Golden Arrows. They began with a 2-1 home win over Amazulu, coming back from 1-0 down with goals at the end of each half. At the weekend they scored in each half to see off Magesi 2-0 and 4 different players have found the net in the first 2 matches.

The Betting

Pirates are 11/20 to win the game with the draw at 11/4 and Polokwane can be backed at 52/10

The Verdict:

This fixture finished 1-1 last season and Pirates edged the return 1-0. The odds in the match result market pay little respect to Polokwane's winning start to the season and the Bucs have been busy in 3 different competitions.

I'm with both sides to find the net here.

Bets: Both teams to score? (yes) at 1.12/1 with Betway

Sundowns v Gallants

Downs are bidding to make it 8 league titles in a row and they made a winning start last week when second half goals from Rayners and Ribeiro gave them a 2-0 home win in the derby with Superspsort.

Downs thrashed Mbabane Swallows 4-0 in both legs their the CAF Champions League clash but they threw in some indifferent performances in the MTN8, edging their way past Polokwane 1-0 in the quarters before losing both legs of their semi final match up with Stellenbosch by a 1-0 scoreline.

Downs are 1 / 10 to retain the title this season.

Gallants are finding the early stages of the new season tough going. They took an early lead against Chiefs in their opening match but went on to lose 2-1. At the weekend they were beaten 2-0 at Golden Arrows who struck twice just before half time.

The Betting

Sundowns are 0.27/1 to win the game with the draw at 38/10 and Gallants can be backed at 11/1

The Verdict:

It's a one sided betting heat and understandably so which makes finding a bet at a decent price pretty tough. After much consideration I will go with Downs to score at least 3 goals.

Bets: Mamelodi Sundowns Total Goals, over 2.5 at 1.65/1 with Betway
