RACE 1
SI GIOCA has finished second in her last three starts. She raced from just off the pace over 1000m last time, but found one too good in the form of Enchanted Sky. She has finished second once and third once from three starts over this C&D. The daughter of Danon Platina meets the right field and she may be rewarded for consistency.
BEST INTENTIONS has some fair recent form lines to her name. She finished 2.75 lengths behind the top choice in her penultimate run. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and she may have to settle for the same result.
KEENONKELLY was in need of her local debut over 1300m. The blinkers have been removed. Her best form has been with the cheekpieces fitted. She will strip much fitter and can finish in the placings.
RACE 2
TORRONE showed very good improvement in his local debut over this C&D. He raced from a handy position, but found one too good in the form of Grey Smoke. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. The blinkers seem to have done the trick. S’manga Khumalo may be able to get the best out of him.
ROYAL VENUS stayed on when third over 1300m last time. She has finished second twice from four starts over this C&D. Should the top choice fluff his lines, she may be the one to pick up the pieces.
FIRE CHASER finished 1.25 lengths behind the second choice last time. She is 2.5kgs worse off at the weights today and she may battle to turn the form around.
RACE 3
VENETIAN MOONLIGHT is having her first run for the Gavin Smith stable. She has been disappointing in her last three starts on the Highveld. The daughter of Lancaster Bomber gets the blinkers fitted today which should keep her mind on the task at hand. If suited to this course, there should be good improvement to come.
EQUILIBRIUM ran a fair race in her local debut over this C&D. She gets the blinkers fitted which may assist her cause. She does have a wide draw to overcome, but she gets the services of Muzi Yeni who will give her all the necessary assistance from the saddle.
SKY VELOCITY found one too good in the form of Fire Glow last time. Her effort when finishing second over this C&D, three runs ago catches the eye. The daughter of Querari can earn another cheque for her patrons.
RACE 4
MARY LAMB raced from a handy position over this C&D last time, fought hard but found one too good in the form of Back For More. She is having her peak run today and will be cherry-ripe. From barrier three, she may be the one to side with.
TURNTHEBEATAROUND followed up her maiden victory with a good third-place finish over this C&D. She would have come on from the run and should strip much fitter. She has cracked pole position and is one of the leading contenders.
AMAZING COLOURS was not beaten far in her first run out of the maidens over 1400m on the turf. She has won once and finished second three times from as many starts on this course. She must be included in all bets.
Race 5
FINAL EDITION followed up his easy maiden victory with a good second-place finish over this C&D. He set the pace that day before getting caught in the shadow of the post by Pembroke. He is likely to adopt the same tactics from barrier two and should find himself in the winner’s enclosure.
EUPHORIC has good consistent form lines to his credit. Four of his nine career victories have come over this C&D. Despite his big mass of 62kgs, he should be involved in the fight to the finish.
GLOBETONIC ran on strongly to win his last start over 1400m on this course. He should have no issues with the step up to the mile. The son of Great Britain is in a good space and can follow up.
Race 6
TUSCAN GOLD won a game race in his last start over this C&D. He showed good speed and fought hard to keep all challengers at bay. The son of Visionaire received a three-pound penalty for that victory. He is likely to adopt the same tactics from the widest draw and may be hard to peg back.
THUNDER MASTER ran on powerfully to win his local debut over this C&D. He would have come on from the outing. The son of Master Of My Fate takes on stronger, but he is in a good space and merits healthy respect.
DONNY TEE stayed on when second over 1000m on this course last time. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. He finished 0.5 lengths behind the second choice in his penultimate run. He is 1kg worse off at the weights and may battle to turn the form around.
RACE 7
SUMMER ODYSSEY ran a good race in her last start over 1200m on this course. She raced from a handy position and stayed on to finish second. She is the stable elect with Richard Fourie in the saddle. She should be at home over 1300m and can return to winning ways.
JOY AND PEACE stayed on when second over 1400m on the turf last time. She has won once and finished third twice from as many starts on this course. If putting her best foot forward, she should be involved at the finish.
ENCHANTED SKY may be the one to spoil the Alan Greeff party. She was an easy winner when shedding her maiden tag over 1000m on this course. The tongue-tie has done the trick on the daughter of Visionaire. She does take on stronger, but has scope and should be up to the task at hand.
RACE 8
GOLD FOR AFRICA was not disgraced when fourth in her last start against stronger. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. She has won twice and finished second twice from six starts over this C&D. The daughter of Gold Standard takes a drop-in class and she should be the one to beat.
ST CLOUD finished 0.75 lengths behind STATE OF MIND last time. She is 1.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned.
STATE OF MIND lost two lengths leaving the start last time, but finished off her race well. She has finished second twice and third once from as many starts over this C&D. She is carded to race on 05 January 2024 and her progress in that race will need to be monitored
