Race 1 

Six of the eight runners in this contest are unraced and the betting market will be the best guide with regards to their chances. VISIONOFPEACE is a daughter of Visionaire from the Roy Magner stable with Gavin Lerena in the saddle. She is related to six-time winner Takingthepeace. If not in need of the run, she should start her career on a positive note.

SILVER PARASOL hails from the Sean Tarry stable and she is a daughter of Gimmethegreenlight. S’manga Khumalo is booked to ride and she should give a good account of herself.

TOO LATE MY MATE is a daughter of Master Of My Fate from the Alec Laird stable with Diego De Gouveia in the irons. She is related to Gimmeanotherchance who has won twice and placed six times from nine starts. If not too green, she should run a positive race. I

Race 2

TINTAMARRE produced a fair debut effort over 800m on this course. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. He found betting support which suggests that he was showing good work at home. The son of Fire Away would have gained from the experience and should love the extra distance on offer. With the natural improvement that is expected, he should be the one to beat.

BLUE VELVET finished 1 length behind the top choice last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and she may have to settle for the same result.

PEACE TREATY is an unraced son of Act Of War from the Sean Tarry stable with S’manga Khumalo in the saddle. He is related to two-time winner Kallipos. If not too green, he should give a good account of himself. The betting market will be the best guide with regards to him and the other first timers.

Race 3

TYRCONNELL has produced three good runs to date. He was running on when second in his last start over 1450m on the Inside course last time. The son of The United States clearly has ability and if not in need of the run, he can shed his maiden tag.

SUTHERLAND showed massive improvement when second in his last start over 1200m on the Vaal Classic course. The manner in which he finished off his race that day suggests that he will love the extra furlong on offer. He is a progressive type and is one of the leading contenders.

FOREST GOD is an unraced son of Silvano from the Mike de Kock stable with Gavin Lerena in the irons. If not in need of the experience, he should start his career on a positive note. The betting market will be the best guide with regards to his chances.

Race 4

FOLLOW THE SUN has produced two decent third place finishes to date. It must be noted that the form of her last outing has been franked. The manner in which she finishes off her races suggests that she will love the rise to 1400m. The daughter of Danon Platina is a progressive type and she can win a race of this nature.

VOLARE E MAMBO produced a fair debut effort over 1450m on the Inside course. She was green in running, but the manner in which she finished off her race was encouraging. S’manga Khumalo is booked to ride and the daughter of Mambo In Seattle should make the natural progression.

DIMAKO’S JET was in need of her debut effort over 1600m on this course. The daughter of Ideal World would have come on from the outing and from her good draw of two, she should improve to be involved at the finish. 

Race 5

BACK IN BUSINESS raced wide around the turn over 1400m last time, but stayed on to finish 1.75 lengths behind the winner. He finished 3.25 lengths behind COSMIC STAR in his penultimate run. He is 3.5kgs better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating them at the finish. The son of William Longsword is unbeaten from two starts over this C&D and can keep that record intact.

COSMIC STAR stayed on when third over 1000m. He won his only attempt over this C&D. If getting away to a clean start, he may be hard to peg back.

I AM GIANT has good consistent form lines to his name. Despite his big mass of 61kgs, he merits healthy respect.

Race 6

SHOEMAKER was a tad disappointing in the Listed Betway Wolf Power 1600 last time. He finished 2 lengths behind ELECTRIC GOLD in his penultimate run. He is 4kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. He is likely to be settled near the rear of the field from his awkward draw of nine and will be mowing down the frontrunners.

ELECTRIC GOLD won a good race in his last start over this C&D. He raced from a handy position, quickened up well and won going away. The son of Flying The Flag merits healthy respect.

EMIRATE GINA is better than her last start in the Grade 2 Mike de Kock Ipi Tombe Challenge as she was reported to be not striding out. She ran a good race when third in the Listed Summer Pudding Handicap in her penultimate run. On best form shown, she should give the males a run for their money.

Race 7

BONETE finished 0.7 lengths behind BELLEVARDE last time. She is 2kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. It must be noted that the form of that outing has been franked. If seeing out the 2400m, she should notch up her third-career victory.

UNITED COUNCIL won a good race in the Non-Black Type 4Racing Sun Chariot Handicap last time. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. She is in a good space and merits healthy respect. RED MAPLE finished 1.3 lengths behind SPRING IN HEAVEN last time. She is 1.5kgs better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating the pair in the run down to the line.

Race 8

IDEAL FUTURE raced from a wide position over this C&D last time, but stayed on to finish third. She has won once and finished third three times from as many starts over this distance. The 5yo mare is the form horse in this contest and she should give the males a run for their money.

EIGER SANCTION ran a fair race in his post maiden effort over 1800m on this course. The son of Potala Palace should have no issues with the rise to 2400m. Gavin Lerena returns to the saddle and he should throw out a big challenge to the top choice.

TWENTY DRACHMA’S was an easy winner of his last start over this C&D. He does take on stronger, but has plenty of scope and should be up to the task at hand
