RACE 1
KEENONKELLY is having her first run for the Gavin Smith stable. She set the pace over 1200m on the Hollywoodbets Greyville Polytrack last time and stayed on to finish third. It must be noted that the horse that finished fourth that day has come out and won since. If settled into her new surroundings, she can shed her maiden tag.
LADY D’ARBANVILLE stayed on strongly when second in her last start over 1200m on this course. She jumps from a good draw of two and if confirming her recent improvement, she should throw out a big challenge to the top choice.
ROYAL VENUS is still a maiden after 19 starts but her last outing over 1200m, was decent. If getting away to a clean start, she should be involved at the finish.
RACE 2
DESTINY’S ANGEL ran a good race in his local debut over 1400m on this course. He was his own worst enemy that day as he over raced in the early stages. The drop to 1200m should suit him well. The blinkers will sharpen him up and from his good draw of two, he can go one better.
GRADUATION TIME has not finished too far off the winner in recent outings. He has finished second once and third three times from as many starts on this course. Should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.
SEA OF TEARS is having her first run for the Kelly Mitchley stable. It must be noted that the horse that finished second in her last outing has come out and won since. If settled into her new surroundings, she can give the males a run for their money.
RACE 3
BENNELONG POINT has shown good improvement in his last two starts. He raced from a handy position over 1400m last time and stayed on to finish second. His only career victory came over this distance. In this field, he can return to winning ways.
FIERY DUKE ran a good race when third in his last start over 1300m on this course. He finished third in his only attempt over this C&D. Chase Maujean retains the ride and he is one of the leading contenders.
GREAT TIMES showed good improvement in his last start over 1000m on this course. He meets a similar line-up this afternoon and if repeating that effort, he should run a big race.
RACE 4
CRUISE CONTROL showed good speed over this distance on the turf last time, but found one too good in the form of Khaya’s Hope who has come out and won again since. The son of Querari won his penultimate run on this course. S’manga Khumalo is booked to ride and the combination may be hard to peg back.
CLIFF TOP is better than his last start suggests as he was reported to be fatigued. He has won twice, finished second twice and third twice from as many starts on this course. The son of Canford Cliffs merits healthy respect.
PRINCE OF FIRE stayed on when third over 1600m on the Polytrack last time. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. He won his only attempt over this C&D and must be included in all bets.
Race 5
VANDALISE showed some good signs of a form return in her last start over this C&D. The manner in which she finished off her race that day was encouraging. She is versatile and from her mid-field draw, she can return to winning ways.
IQEMBULABESIFAZANE was an easy winner of her last start over this C&D. She raced from a handy position, quickened up well and won going away. She returns from a well-deserved 10-week break and if not in need of the run, she can follow up.
ANGELSEA has consistent form lines to her credit. She finished 0.85 lengths behind the top choice in her penultimate run. She is 0.5kgs better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating the pair in the run down to the line.
Race 6
GALLIC TRIBE has good consistent form lines to his credit. He received a bump leaving the start in the Non-Black Type Founders Trophy last time and stayed on to finish third. He has won twice and finished third twice from six starts on this course. He should have no issues with the step up to 1900m and is the horse to beat.
PEACE IN OUR WORLD finished 1.75 lengths behind GLOBAL ALLY last time. He is 3.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned.
GLOBAL ALLY is a winner of his last three starts, the latest of which was over this C&D. He does have a wide draw to overcome, but gets the services of Richard Fourie who will give him all the necessary assistance from the saddle.
RACE 7
RAISING QUINN won a good race in her last start over this C&D. She raced from a handy position and kept finding all the way to the line. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. She is unbeaten from two starts over this C&D and will be looking to keep that record intact.
GLOBAL RUSH won a game race in her last start over 1400m on this course. The blinkers have done the trick on the daughter of Global View. She received a three-pound penalty for that victory and can follow up.
MARY LAMB finished 2 lengths behind the second choice last time. She is 0.5kgs better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result.
RACE 8
PATH OF CHOICE finished 1.25 lengths behind CHARLIE MALONE last time. He is 4kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. He gets the blinkers re-fitted and may be the one to side with.
CHARLIE MALONE won a good race in his last start over this C&D. He meets a similar line-up this afternoon and can follow up.
WIND SOCK showed some signs of a form return in his last start over 1300m on this course. He has dropped in the ratings and with a bit of luck from the widest draw, he should have a say in the outcome of this contest
