RACE 1
THE LADY LOVE was disappointing in her last start against male company, over 1200m. Her penultimate run when third over this distance on the polytrack was encouraging. The daughter of Lancaster Bomber will enjoy the drop to 1000m and back against her own sex, she may be the one to side with.
BELLA ATTRICE ran a good race when second over this distance on the polytrack last time. She finished 1.25 lengths behind the top choice in her penultimate run. The pair meet on the same weight terms and she may have to settle for the same result. The blinkers seem to have done the trick and she is one of the leading contenders.
FIRE CHASER has been disappointing in her last two starts after two fair runs. It must be noted that the horse that finished third in her last outing has come out and won since. She drops to the minimum trip and in this field, can finish in the first three.
RACE 2
SINGLE FILE is the best bet on the programme. He was running on when third over this C&D last time. His penultimate run when a head behind the winner over this C&D, catches the eye. The son of Canford Cliffs meets the right field today and if not too far out of his ground at the halfway mark, he can shed his maiden tag.
MIRACULOUS MAN is the stable companion of the top choice. He has decent recent form lines to his credit. He finished second in his only attempt on this course. Wayne Agrella takes the ride and he may be able to coax that little bit extra out of him where it matters most.
BENNELONG POINT raced from a handy position over this distance on the polytrack last time and stayed on to finish second. The tongue-tie seems to have done the trick on the son of Pathfork. If confirming his recent improvement, he should be involved in the fight to the finish.
RACE 3
This is a weak Open Maiden race for the girls and caution is advised. The tentative first selection is ROYAL VENUS from the Tara Laing stable. She showed good signs of a form return in her last start over 1300m on the polytrack, despite losing a shoe in running. The daughter of Royal Mo will love the rise to the mile and with her handy galloping mass of 52kgs, she may be the one to side with.
GLOBAL AVENUE ran a good race when second over this C&D last time. She should have finished closer to the winner that day. This is her first run for the Juan Nel stable and with a bit of luck from the widest draw, she should pose a massive threat.
AFRODITE finished 1.5 lengths behind the top choice last time. She is 5.5kgs worse off at the weights today and may battle to turn the form around
RACE 4
GUNSMOKE has good consistent form lines to his credit. He raced from a handy position over 1400m last time and stayed on to finish fourth. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. He has won once and finished second once from three starts on this course. The 5yo gelding can return to winning ways.
GRAND DESTINY stayed on when third over this distance on the polytrack last time. It must be noted that Wind Sock has come out and won again since. Should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.
HUMBLE TUNE stayed on when fourth over 1900m last time. He finished 0.05 lengths behind the second choice, three runs ago. He is 0.5kgs better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating them in the run down to the line.
RACE 5
SAINT ANASTASIA has not finished too far off the winner in her last three starts. She was running on when fourth over this distance last time. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. The daughter of Master Of My Fate is back against her own sex today and in this field, she can notch up her third career victory
UNYIELDING was reported to be coughing in both her local starts on the polytrack. The daughter of Flower Alley won her maiden over this distance, three runs ago. She will enjoy racing on the turf course and from her good draw of two, she should improve.
SARAJEVO returns from an 18-week break. She has won twice from five starts over this C&D. The 6yo mare races well fresh and with luck in running, she should have a say in the outcome of this contest
Race 6
MY BOY REECEY finished 1.85 lengths behind BOURNEMOUTH last time. He is 3kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. The son of Wylie Hall has no issues with the return to the turf and from his good draw of two, he may find himself in the winner’s enclosure.
BOURNEMOUTH won a good race in his last start over 2200m on the polytrack. He has won once and finished third once from as many starts on this course. The son of Canford Cliffs always gives of his best and can notch up his fourth career victory.
DOUBLE CHECK won a good race in her last start over this C&D. The daughter of Twice Over is unbeaten from three starts on this course. She is in a good space and should give the males a run for their money once again.
RACE 7
MOON GAME ran on strongly when third over 1600m on the polytrack last time. He has won twice, finished second twice and third twice from 12 starts over this C&D. The 6yo gelding has cracked a good draw of three and can return to winning ways.
PRINCE VIHAAN finished 0.25 lengths behind ALINGALONGA last time. He is 0.5kgs better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating them in the run down to the line. He is likely to race on the speed and may be hard to peg back.
ALINGALONGA got going too late when second over this C&D last time. He does have a wide draw to overcome, but gets the services of Richard Fourie who will give him all the necessary assistance from the saddle.
RACE 8
BONNAROO has very good consistent form lines to her credit. She showed good speed over 1000m last time, but was outrun late by Phedra. She has won once, finished second twice and third once from six starts over this distance. She is back in Handicap Company and may be hard to peg back.
PRINCESS DEB‘S finished 3.25 lengths behind the top choice last time. She is 1.5kgs better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result. With luck in running, she should be competitive.
BAUBLES AND BEADS showed good speed over this C&D last time, but was caught late by Looking Hot. She has won once, finished second twice and third once from five starts over this distance. The daughter of Rafeef is having her peak run today and merits healthy respect.
RACE 9
QUEEN‘S WOOD was running on when second over 1200m on the polytrack last time. It must be noted that Questor has come out and won again since. The son of Count Dubois is having his peak run today and will be cherry-ripe. If not too far out of his ground at the halfway mark, he can go one better.
ANGEL DEB‘S finished 3.75 lengths behind the top choice last time. He is 0.5kgs better off at the weights today which is not enough for the tables to be turned, but he should finish closer as a result.
NARCOS stayed on strongly when third over 1200m on the polytrack last time. The son of Coup De Grace has dropped to a competitive rating and if confirming his recent improvement, he should be right there
