BettingDiaryThe Monaco Formula 1 Grand Prix takes place at the famous street circuit this weekend and we take a look at the race from a betting angle.

Max Verstappen has shortened into 4/6 to win the Drivers Championship after his victory in Spain last time out. Charles Leclerc who led Verstappen by 19 points going into the Spanish Grand Prix unfortunately had to retire and didn’t score a point. He now trails Verstappen by 6 points and is 15/10 for the Championship. It looks unlikely that anybody is going to trouble the duo in the title race, but George Russell is next in the betting at 16/1 and you can get 25/1 and better the balance.

As far as the Constructor Championship goes Red Bull are the 5/6 favourites ahead of Ferrari at 12/10 with Mercedes on offer at 9/1 and 1500/1 and better the balance.

Max Verstappen benefitted from some misfortune from his title rival, Charles Leclerc in Spain with Leclerc leading comfortably before suffering a mechanical failure. Verstappen was followed home by his teammate, Sergio Perez with George Russell in his Mercedes completing the podium.

No single rider has dominated the Monaco Grand Prix in recent years with Lewis Hamilton winning twice in the last 5 years and the other races going to Ricciardo and Vettel and of course Verstappen last year.

Suggested Bet: Charles Leclerc to win at 11/10

Ferrari looks to have slightly more pace than the Red Bull and I reckon Leclerc will qualify in pole position and at a track where overtaking is very difficult that could and most probably will be crucial.

Suggested Bet: Top 6 Finish Lando Norris at 11/10

Norris has had two Top 6 finishes in 5 starts and what has me leaning this way this week was his podium finish last year and the fact that he showed plenty of pace in qualifying something which would stand him in good stead this week.
