We take a look at three of the DSTV Premiership matches taking place this weekend and suggest a bet in each of them.
After two rounds of PSL action only one team has a 100% record and that is Royal AM while two teams, Cape Town City and Golden Arrows have yet to earn a point.
FRIDAY
MARITZBURG UNITED v SWALLOWS
Maritzburg United opened their campaign with a 1-1 home draw against Sekhukhune, but they were brought down to earth by Kaizer Chiefs last time out losing 3-0 on the road in midweek.
Swallows played in an uncharacteristic high scoring game in midweek beating Cape Town City 3-2 at home. The week before that they lost a derby match 1-0 at Pirates.
These sides have met 4 times in the PSL and all 4 games have seen under 2.5 goal backers collect. Both fixtures finished 1-1 last season.

Maritzburg 16/10
Draw 19/10
Swallows 85/40
Suggested Bet: The draw at 19/10
Maritzburg United should be a different proposition at home and I am expecting improvement against Swallows. The draw would have arrived in the last 3 meetings between the sides so the 19/10 on offer seems fair.
SATURDAY
MAMELODI SUNDOWNS v KAIZER CHIEFS
This is the biggest game of the season to date and having opened their campaign with a 2-0 away win over Cape Town City, Sundowns crashed to their first defeat going down 1-0 at home to Galaxy on Wednesday. The defending Champions currently sit 8th on the table, level on points with Kaizer Chiefs who have a slightly better goal difference. Chiefs beat Maritzburg United 3-0 at home in midweek, but lost their opener 1-0 away at Royal AM.
Sundowns won this fixture 2-0 last season with the reverse fixture at Chiefs finishing 1-1.

Mamelodi Sundowns 17/20
Draw 12/5
Kaizer Chiefs 7/2
Suggested Bet: Kaizer Chiefs win at 7/2
Prior to last season’s defeat at Sundowns, Chiefs had won 3 and drawn 1 of their previous 4 matches in Pretoria so the 7/2 is just asking to be backed.
SUNDAY
ORLANDO PIRATES v CHIPPA UNITED
Pirates played out a 1-1 draw at Stellenbosch in midweek and that came on the back of their 1-0 victory over Swallows in their season opener. They face a Chippa United side that is still looking for their first victory having gone down 3-1 at home to Royal AM on Wednesday and in their opening fixture they got a creditable 1-1 draw at SuperSport United.
This fixture finished goalless last season, but Pirates won the reverse game 3-1 at Chippa United. Prior to last season’s draw Pirates have won their last 4 home fixtures against Chippa United in the League.

Orlando Pirates 8/11
Draw 26/10
Chippa United 9/2
Suggested Bet: Handicap, Pirates (-1.5) goals at 2/1
For this bet to arrive we need Pirates to win by more than a goal something they have achieved in 2 of their last 4 matches against Chippa. I have gone on record as saying I expect a big season for Pirates and they will have to win these sort of games comfortably if they are going to contend for the Title.
