BettingDiaryWith the FA Cup quarter-finals taking place this weekend we only have 3 English Premiership League games to bet on and we preview all 3 of the matches.

SATURDAY

ASTON VILLA v ARSENAL

Aston Villa are 9th on the table, but suffering a 2-1 away loss to West Ham last time out, that broke a run of 3 successive victories during which time they did not concede a goal. Arsenal are currently 4th on the table, 8 points behind 3rd Chelsea, but with a game in hand.

Aston Villa home games have been high scoring this season with 9 of the 13 matches delivering you a profit had you backed over 2.5 goals. Arsenal away games have averaged 3.2 goals each with 7 of the 12 matches reaching the 3 goal mark.

Arsenal won the reverse fixture 3-1 at home and last season Aston Villa won this fixture 1-0.

Aston Villa 2/1

Draw 5/2

Arsenal 27/20

Suggested Bet: Over 2.5 goals at 17/20

Both of these sides are playing well and coming off a loss and will be determined to right the ship, I think we are going to get goals in this one.

SUNDAY

LEICESTER v BRENTFORD

Leicester are 12th on the log and are coming off a 2-0 away defeat to Arsenal. Prior to that they had beaten Leeds 1-0 at home and Burnley 2-0 on the road.

They face a Brentford side that has bounced back into form with 2 victories in a row at home to Burnley and away at Norwich. Prior to that they had been on a terrible run that has seen them take just 1 point out of 24 points played for.

Both Leicester home games and Brentford away matches have a fairly even split of over and under 2.5 goals.

Leicester won at Brentford earlier this season 2-1.

Leicester 23/20

Draw 5/2

Brentford 5/2

Suggested Bet: Leicester win at 23/20

I get the feeling that Leicester has turned the corner after a really wobbly patch and although Brentford are showing improved form anything north of even money strikes me as some decent value on the home side here.

TOTTENHAM v WEST HAM

This is the match of the weekend and the London derby should be well worth a watch.

Tottenham are currently in 7th spot, level on points with West Ham, but with a game in hand. West Ham are actually 1 position above them in 6th on the log by virtual of superior goal difference. Tottenham’s recent results have been inconsistent and last time out they beat Brighton 2-0 on the road having previously lost 3-2 to Manchester United. Tottenham haven’t drawn 1 of their last 10 matches winning 5 and losing 5.

West Ham got a valuable 2-1 win over Aston Villa at home last time out and prior to that they lost 1-0 on the road to Liverpool.

Looking at the goal stats of the sides 9 of the 13 Tottenham home matches have reached the 3 goal mark this season while West Ham games have been lower scoring on the road with a 50% split between over and under 2.5 goals.

West Ham beat Tottenham 1-0 at home earlier this season.

Tottenham 15/20

Draw 3/1

West Ham 7/2

Suggested Bet: West Ham win at 7/2

Tottenham have been so inconsistent this season and are a side that performs better when hitting other teams on the break. I don’t see them having that luxury against West Ham and I am backing the Hammers to pull a surprise win here.
