BIG BASH 22 January

It’s the last weekend of regular season action in the BBL this weekend. To get us into that we can sink our teeth into a double header on Friday. Here’s where I am heading from a betting perspective for these matches.

Hobart Hurricanes vs Perth Scorchers @ 07:05 Melbourne

Things are tighter than your belt in January in the middle of the BBL pack at present. It is a mad dash for the playoff spots and six teams find themselves within 3 log points of each other. The Scorchers have to be considered the stronger side int his clash with power hitters in Munro and Roy in their ranks whilst bowling wise Jye Richardson and Behrendorff have led the attack well. The Hurricanes haven’t often seen the best of Darcy Short or David Malan thus far and their bowling attack is workmanlike rather than spectacular.

Betolimp Best Bets

Top Hurricanes Batsman – Ben McDermott @ 3.75

With Darcy the star off colour in this season it’s been another top order batsman who has stuck his hand up. McDermott is a cut above his team mates at resent.

Top Hurricanes Bowler – Scott Boland @ 4.50

Boland is fresh off taking four in the previous match. The big fast bowler should find his biggest competition in the form of Lamichhane but teams have often opted to rather just play the spinner out with little risk.

Man of the Match – Fawad Ahmed @ 21.00

I like the price offered on the leggy. Yes the Docklands Dome hasn’t been used as much thus far so it shouldn’t be showing too much wear and tear but I fancy Perth to get the job done and that makes this a value bet in my opinion.

Sydney Sixers vs Sydney Thunder @ 10:15 Adelaide

The Sydney derby will strangely enough be decided in Adelaide. The Sixers are the only side certain of their spot in the playoffs but they will want to keep their momentum going. Unlike with the Docklands Dome above the Adelaide Oval has been used plenty. The likes of Rashid Khan have enjoyed their time there and as such I will be looking to back the spinners in this one.

Betolimp Best Bets

Top Sixers Batsman – Josh Philippe @ 3.40

Philippe has comfortably been the best with the willow for the Sixers, and for the entire comp (as he is the leading run scorer in the League) and despite being offered at a short price I can’t look past the opener.

Top Thunder Batsman – Sam Billings @ 5.00

Alex Hales has looked sharp but I fancy the bigger price on Billings. Fresh off a fifty and one of the better players of spin around I think he is a good shout.

Top Sixers Bowler – Stephen O’Keefe @ 4.00

A man in decent form playing on a track that should suit. No brainer for me.

Top Thunder Bowler – Tanveer Sangha @ 3.40

This is a short price about Sangha but with Sams out with injury he is comfortably the most threatening bowler in the Thunder attack.
