BIG BASH Weekend 09 & 10 Jan

 

Business is certainly starting to pick up in the Big Bash and we have another weekend of exciting matches coming our way.

 

Perth Scorchers vs Sydney Thunder, Sat 09 Jan @ 10:15 Perth

 

The Thunder are cruising at the top of the boards whilst the Scorchers find themselves second from bottom. It would thus come as a surprise to see the home side start this one as the favourites. But the Scorchers are running hot at present with three straight victories.

Most Match Sixes – Scorchers @ 1.95

This Perth batting order is absolutely loaded with heavy hitters. Roy, Munro and Mitch Marsh are known boundary clearers, so I am happy backing the Western Australians to bring home the bacon in this market.

 

Player to score Most Sixes – C Munro @ 7.00

I have already backed the Scorchers to hit lots of half dozens but the main big hitter I will depending on is the big hitting Kiwi left hander who seemingly clears the ropes with ease on a regular basis.

 

Man of the Match – T Sangha @ 13.00

I am probably slightly in the home side’s camp in terms of the result but if the Thunder are to get the job done then their spinner will play a big part. Sangha has been in sharp form thus far.

 

Sydney Sixers vs Brisbane Heat, Sun 10 Jan @ 10:15 Carrara

 

The Sydney Sixers are still sitting pretty but they will want to stay ahead of the competitive bunched pack in the middle of the table. The Heat are very much part of that bunch and with Chris Lynn back in their midst they will want to start moving to the sharp end of the table.

Phillippe is in good touch at the top of the order but he plays a looser game than Vince who is always a solid punt at number three to lead the charge for the Sixers.

Lynn is back and he already looks at his big hitting best.

 

Man of the Match – S O’Keefe @ 17.00

Finger spinners often either get taken for plenty or play a vital role in deciding a game. I am hoping for the latter in this case.
