The Hurricanes made it three wins in a row as they left it late against the Blues this past weekend but now face the table topping Crusaders who have yet to come up short in Super Rugby Aotearoa. The home side return after enjoying their bye weekend.
Team News
After a slow start to 2020 the Hurricanes are finally starting to some good signs of form. Jordie Barrett, TJ Perenara and Ngani Luamape are operating at optimal performance levels at the moment. The Crusaders have lost David Havili but its hardly panic stations in their ranks as this just means Will Jordan is guaranteed the 15 jumper. Tasman’s Fetuli Paea might be a big unit himself but he will be seriously challenged having to step up against the powerful Laumape & Umaga-Jensen combo.
Tactics
The Hurricanes pack is fronting up nicely and giving their dangerous backs the opportunity to express themselves as only they know how. The mini-bus that is Laumape was in devastating mood against the Blues and the Wellington lads will need their All Black inside centre to back up his performance at Orangetheory Stadium. The Crusaders are all but guaranteed the Aotearoa title so perhaps motivation could be an issue. They do however have the uncanny ability to lift their game if and when needed and the built in Kiwi rugby pride is such that one wouldn’t expect the home side to be caught flat on Saturday.

One could easily see the Crusaders clicking and putting plenty past the visitors but the men in yellow are on a high and should make their hosts work for this one.
