Rebels vs Brumbies – Friday 07 Aug @ 11:05, Leichhardt Oval NSW
The poor Rebels don’t even have Melbourne as a helping hand in this clash versus the log-leading Brumbies. The Canberra based outfit are yet to fire on full cylinders, yet they are comfortably in pole position on the log. Their relative struggles are insignificant compared to a team stranded away from home and fresh of having to dig deep in extra time to finally get past the Force.
It hasn’t been pretty from the Horsies thus far but they have the pack and the quality individuals to dig deep and get the job done – albeit in an ugly fashion if need be.
Waratahs vs Reds – Saturday 08 August @ 11:15, SCG
The Waratahs have had a week to stew on their disappointing showing against the Rebels a fortnight ago. The Reds on the other hand need to get straight back on the horse after coming up agonisingly short against the Brumbies. The men in Red did however show at GIO that they have the total game to mix it with the best in the Aussie conference and I don’t see them having much trouble in putting a hapless Tahs outfit away. Look out for the returning Jordan Petaia to have a stormer in his first full game back on the park.
