Football ManCity120Three big matches from the English Premier League make up our football treble on Saturday 17th October with the odds boosted by @Olimp_SA

We sat out the international break but prior to that we had a small win with 2 of 3 legs arriving on 4th October with one game postponed. We are 1 from 4 at the start of the new season and we stick with the same match result, over 2.5 goals and both teams to score format for Saturday's treble and the odds have been boosted to 5.75 by @Olimp_SA

Leg 1 Everton v Liverpool

Everton are one of only 2 teams to boast a 100% record and they set the early pace on the back of 4 wins from 4 matches. They started with a 1-0 win at Spurs and since then the goals have been flowing including home games against West Brom (5-2) and Brighton (4-2).

Liverpool were 3 wins from 3 before suffering a 7-2 hiding away to Villa just before the international break. They had previously seen off Leeds (4-3) and Arsenal (3-1) at Anfield and Chelsea (2-0) at Stamford Bridge.

This Merseyside derby at Goodison has finished 0-0 in each of the last 3 season and there is no doubting Everton's improvement. However our thinking is that Liverpool's horror show at Villa was a freak result, the visitors have had 2 weeks to get that out of their system and a positive reaction is expected.

We start with a match result pick with preference for the away win.

Prediction: Liverpool to win

Leg 2 Manchester City v Arsenal

City come into the game with 4 just points from 3 matches after a very inconsistent start. There was nothing wrong with a 3-1 victory at Wolves but a 5-2 home defeat to Leicester followed by a 1-1 draw at Leeds asks plenty of questions in this early stage of the season.

Arsenal have 3 wins and 1 defeat to show for their efforts so far. The sole defeat came at Liverpool whilst their wins came against Fulham (3-0), West Ham (2-1) and Sheffield United (2-1).

Arsenal have found it tough going when visiting City in recent times but they are a much better side under Arteta and they can point to an FA Cup semi final win over City at Wembley in July as a source of encouragement.

City rarely fail to score and this time Arsenal can also contribute in that department.

Prediction: Both teams to score

Leg 3 Newcastle v Manchester United

We finish at Newcastle who have taken 7 points from their first 4 matches. They probably caught West Ham and Burnley at the right time to pick up 2 wins but they were very average in a 3-0 home defeat to Brighton and hugely flattered by a 1-1 draw at Spurs.

United have come under fire for their start which has earned them 3 points from 3 matches. They were very fortunate to win at Brighton (3-2) with a very late goal after surving a number of scares. Either side of that they lost 3-1 at home to Palace and last time out they fell apart in losing 6-1 at home to Spurs.

United have lost 1-0 at St James Park in 2 of the last 3 seasons but given the amount of goals we have seen scored in the early part of the current season along with the question marks against the visitors defence, over 2.5 total match goals rounds off our treble.

Prediction: Over 2.5 goals
