FORMULA 1 - Tuscan Grand Prix – Italy. Mugello, 11-13 Sep
OVERVIEW
There was no doubt about the fact that Hamilton was once again charging toward total dominance at Monza last week yet racing incidents transpired against him. In the end we got one of the strangest podiums in recent times with all three steps occupied by surprising drivers. There could not have been many punters out there brave enough to call a Pierre Gasly victory that’s for sure!
A week on we remain in Italy but move to the Mugello for this weekend’s action.
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
This is the very first time that Formula 1 visits the Mugello track – certainly better known for hosting the two-wheeled machines. It is not often in modern day Formula 1 motor racing that drivers get the opportunity to visit a brand-new track not usually included on their circuit. From all accounts this is a super track which the riders are really looking forward to.
Of course, the fact that we visit a new track means that there is no course history to call on. One thing we can be sure of is that Lewis Hamilton will be chomping at the bit to stamp his name all over the blank page of records with regard to Mugello in F1.
Apart from the Brit in the No44 Mercedes the Racing Points and McLaren remain two of the most impressive teams of the 2020 season so look out for another strong performance form them.
Verdict
I’m expecting total domination from Hamilton on new ground that’s needs to be conquered. With Chico Perez now officially released by Racing Point for 2021 in favour of Vettel we could see a demoralised performance from Sergio. I am also looking to Stroll at a very attractive price to start the weekend strong.
