Couch Critic previews the betting for the Indian Premier League matches taking place on Sunday 31st March.
SUNRISERS vs RCB (Sunday, 31 March – 12:30)
Setting the Scene: The Sunrisers needed a scorcher from David Warner to get them the momentum they needed to pull off successful big chase against the Royals. RCB enter the match trying to break their donut having lost out by the narrowest of margins as AB de Villiers found good hitting form but couldn’t quite get them over the line against Mumbai.
Let’s Talk Tactics: Hyderabad offered up plenty of runs last time out with Rajasthan’s 198 not proving enough. Buvi and the other bowlers will need to offer more support to Rashid Kahn. RCB will continue to rely on Chahal with the ball and AB to find his range with the willow.
Verdict: With both wrist spinners the main weapons I see opponents just looking to see them out and thus offer an opportunity for a few of the other bowlers to pick up some sticks. An in-form AB could be devastating whilst Williamson might be the way to go in case Davey finally fails. I don’t see either of these teams being huge six hitters.

CSK vs ROYALS (Sunday, 31 March – 16:30)
Setting the Scene: The Super Kings have been pretty super thus far. That being said they’ve hardly been asked to stretch their legs in terms of putting up big scores. RR come off a very impressive batting display and just weren’t good enough to seal the deal with the ball.
Let’s Talk Tactics: Chennai took plenty of spin in the opening game so look out for a battle between the tweakers. We don’t really know too much about the CSK batting quality as they’ve hardly been challenged thus far – the likes of Archer and Gopal could test them a bit more. Again there are a few individuals capable of clearing the rope but I don’t see this as a game with an abundance of sixes.
Verdict: We have to have some spinners involved in our betting strategy here and also bank on Buttler’s six hitting ability.
