nrl.logoCouch Critic previews the NRL Final between Penrith Panthers and Melbourne Storm including best bets and tryscorer specials with @Olimp_SA

It’s time for the Grand Final of NRL 2020!

At stages it threatened to be a disappointing 2020 Rugby League season but in the end we experienced something special. The Penrith Panthers and Melbourne Storm are two fitting, and deserved finalists. Regardless of the result we will have a worthy champion. But, enough of that – it’s time to find some betting value one

last time.

PENRITH PANTHERS vs MELBOURNE STORM – Sun 25 Oct @ 10:50, ANZ Sydney

Penrith have had a fairy tale year and they would love to put the cherry on the cake by delivering the victory in a superb season where their only hiccups came in the form of one draw and one loss. In total Penrith have delivered an incredible 20 wins and will be desperate to make it 21 against the Storm on Sunday.

Melbourne weren’t nearly as clinical as the Panthers in the regular season (they suffered four defeats). Yet steered by a spine of Cam Smith, Cam Munster and Jahrome Hughes they have looked solid as a rock in the Finals.

It promises to be a fascinating final with the form and flair of the likes of Crichton, Kikau and Nathan Cleary squaring off against the above-mentioned grit and experience. For fans of the battle between the big boys look out for what promises to be an earth-moving clash between Fisher-Harris and Asofa-Solomona.

BETOLIMP Bets

  1. Melbourne Storm to win by 1-10 points @ 2.74

I am expecting a titanic battle between these two top teams but in the end the Storm are a team who by definition don’t mind the grit and grind required for these knockout clashes and they also have the big name experience on their side.

  1. HT/FT Margin – Panthers (1-8) / Storm (1-12) @ 10.54

Penrith have been superb in defending their line in the first half of games and I think there is some value in the Panthers starting faster but the Storm delivering the result in the end.

  1. First Scoring Play – Panthers Try @ 2.55

Continuing from above I see Penrith starting fast in this one.

  1. Wincast – Stephen to score first try and Storm to win @ 20.58

Crichton has notched up 16 tries this season so I will have one last go on my man Steven to deliver.

  1. Anytime Scorecast – Viliame Kikau to score a try anytime and Storm to win by 1-6 points @ 14.70

With seven tries from 18 appearances Kikau is one of the biggest tryscorers as a forward.
