BettingDiaryEngland and Australia meet in the third and final ODI at Old Trafford on Wednesday and with the series locked at one apiece we should be in for a thriller. We look at the game from a betting angle.

England failed to chase 295 for victory in the 1st ODI and while they could only muster 231 for 9 in the first innings of the 2nd ODI, Australia were short priced to win the series.

Captain Morgan was the pick of the batsmen with 42 runs from 52 deliveries, there were a number of contributions throughout the batting order. Zampa got 3 for 36 in his 10 overs, but pick of the bowlers was Hazlewood with 1 for 27 in 10.

David Warner failed with the bat again going for 6, but Finch and Labuschagne put on a big partnership and at 144 for 2 Australia appeared to be cruising to victory. Morgan then called his strike bowlers back earlier than normal and they did the business, Woakes getting 3 for 32 and Archer 3 for 34 in their 10 overs.

England won fairly comfortably in the end bowling Australia out for 207.

It is certainly not surprising that this match is priced up as a virtual choice affair with England slight favourites at 8/10 and Australia 21/20.

SUGGESTED BETS

BET: England win at 8/10

England would have taken a lot from the fact that they came back to win the 2nd ODI and I was very impressed with the captaincy of Morgan. I am backing them to come from behind and win the series 2-1.

BET: Top Away Batsman, Labuschagne at 5/1

I must admit being surprised at seeing Warner as the 28/10 favourite given his current form and Steve Smith has also not really fired yet and the 3/1 looks short. Finch is also 3/1 which looks about right, but for me the value lies in Labuschagne at 5/1. He was fluent in scoring 48 in the 2nd ODI and I fancy him for another big game.
