Let's move on to the betting tips an please remember these odds quoted can change significantly between the time of publication and race day.

Race 1: 12:05 WORLD POOL WITH TABGOLD DARLEY (Listed) 1600m

A wide open listed handicap with 14 runners going to post and a case can be made for most of them. Imilenzeyokududuma looks a value each way play to me at around 12/1. A prep run for this race didn't go to plan but when using a horse called Narina Trogon as a line then earlier form gives the selection the beating of a number of the more fancied runners in this field and Draw 3 is another plus point.

Selection: Imilenzeyokududuma (each way) at 12/1

Race 2: 12:40 WORLD POOL WITH GOLD CIRCLE DEBUTANTE (Grade 2) 1200m

A talented bunch of 2yo fillies step out in Race 2 with the field headed by Rodeo Drive for the powerful trainer / jockey combo of Tarry and Fourie. Simply Majestic who has beaten the favourite before over a shorter trip looks a danger but I prefer to go with a conservative top 3 place bet on local hope Just Reckless who is as game as they come.

Selection: Just Reckless to run in the top 3 at 12/10

Race 3: 13:15 WORLDPOOL TWITTER STAKES (Grade 2) 1200m

Another 2yo race and this time the field comprises of colts and geldings. Chocolate Soldier faces his toughest task to date but is blessed with speed and jumps from Gate 2. The Gauteng raider has had a look at Greyville, winning on the polytrack, he is up in class significantly but could be equal to it.

Selection: Chocolate Soldier to win at 34/10

Race 4: 13:50 DOUGLAS WHYTE STAKES (Grade 1) 1600m

Quid Pro Quo will be a very popular winner and is taken to add to career stats of 4 wins and 2 second places from 6 starts. Gate 12 would be more of a concern than tackling 1600m for the first time but given the way she pulled clear to win on July Day over 200m shorter QPQ can mow them down and oblige for favourite backers.

Selection: Quid Pro Quo to win at 13/10

Race 5: 14:40 WORLD POOL MOMENT OF THE DAY CHAMPION STAKES (Grade 1) 1600m

The scratching of Proceed increases the chances of another win for stable mate Cosmic Speed but I'm siding with a top 4 place bet on an outsider. Going on ratings Grand Crescendo has plenty to find and trainer Candice Dawson has a more fancied runner in the shape of Truth. However Grand Crescendo could have stacks more improvement to come and if Muzi Yeni can get a good pitch from an awkward draw of 10 he can run into the money.

Selection: To place in the top 4, Grand Crescendo at 5/1

Race 6: 15:30 MERCURY SPRINT (Grade 1) 1200m

Lucky Lad heads the field for this Gr 1 sprint and deservedly so but he has drawn in Gate 13 and two previous runs at Greyville didn't go to plan. At My Command has put in two excellent efforts since dropping back to 1200m, the first of which saw home just touched off by Lucky Lad up the straight at Scottsville. Favourably drawn at 5 here At My Command gets the vote.

Selection: At My Command to win at 7/2

Race 7: 16:10 WORLD POOL GOLD CUP (Grade 3) 3200m

Future Pearl is back to defend the Gold Cup crown he won last year and he has been running into form at the right time. If you want to look beyond the short priced favourite it looks really tricky but Raiseahallelujah had excuses when fancied last time out and with a light mass and being distance suited he could find place money.

Selection: To place in the top 4, Raiseahallelujah at 3.25/1

Race 8: 16:50 THE HKJC CHAMPIONS CUP (Grade 1) 1800m

Many if the Champions Cup field contested thee Durban July including Cousin Casey (2nd), Royal Victory (3rd), Flag Man (4th) and See It Again an unlucky 5th. Babaresco ran out of steam in the July and will prefer the drop to 1800m, Double Superlative is the MET winner and wasn't too far back in the July, just in front of Hluhluwe whilst Purple Pitcher would need to return to top form to have any say. Dave The King swerved the July with this race in mind so commands huge respect.

The July was a handicap and this is weight for age and these terms would suggest See It Again is the one to beat. However, although much has been made of See It Again's poor luck in the July he wasn't the only runner to experience traffic problems that day. Royal Victory had to be eased in the straight and was eventually switched out for a clear run and was also making ground at the finish whilst Cousin Casey and Flag Man had to overcome wide draws.

Royal Victory will have to run the race of his career so far to win this but this champ who we are so fortunate to own a small share in might well be equal to the task.

Selection: Royal Victory to win at 6/1

Race 9: 17:30 RIDING HIGH TOGETHER GOLD BRACELET (Grade 2) 2000m

This is another wide open contest and a chance is taken on Gilded Butterfly each way. She hasn't been seen since 24th May when she had excuses for finishing way back in the Woolavington at this course. On the pick of her form she would be a factor here and at a big price to a small stake she gets the vote.

Selection: Gilded Butterfly each way at 18/1

Race 10: 18:00 LHKIR IN DECEMBER UMNGENI HANDICAP (Listed) 1000m

The final race and whether you have backed any of our picks or made your own mind up hopefully it has been a decent day.

It's a competitive listed handicap for sprinters but very useful 2yo Pistol Pete presumably had options in terms of feature races in his own age group so the fact his connections have opted to run against elders here with just 52kg is hard to ignore.

Selection: Pistol Pete to win at 28/10
