Last week we labelled Atticus Finch as a banker in our preview and newsletter and he didn't disappoint, running out a convincing winner having being backed in from an opening price of around 22/10. Unfortunately, for our Jackpot perm, a whole host of fancied runners arrived later in the card and we ended up “paying in”.
Onwards we go and having looked at Saturday's card I was thinking it's a good job the English Premier League football is starting up as I'm battling to find anything that stands out but on further inspection there is one in Race 8 that caught the eye.
Due off at 15:55 this MR68 handicap for the fillies and mares will be run over 1400m and barring and late scratchings 10 runners will go to post.
Let's great straight into it and I will side with No 6, Writteninthesand with Calvin Habib taking the ride. This daughter of Master Of My Fate has just turned 4 and is pretty lightly raced with just 10 previous runs under her belt for 1 win and she has finished fourth on 4 occasions.
She won her maiden at the sixth time of asking and was duly awarded a MR 71. That mark has steadily declined to 61 and there have been excuses for recent runs. On collateral form she has nothing to fear from No 5 Mamaquera who is prominent in the betting. Your likely favourite, Sean Tarry's Maboneng has been super consistent and has often been the subject of market support but jumps from a wide gate whilst our pick jumps from stall 5.
Let's leave the exotics for another day and row in with Writteninthesand to win at current odds of around 9/2
