csk2019Match 50 of the IPL is a top of the table clash between Chennai Super Kings and Delhi Capitals. Both sides are already assured of a play off place but there is still much to play for.

Chennai Super Kings

The Super Kings come into the game level on points at the top of the standings with their opponents here but their net run rate is inferior.

Last time out CSK were beaten at home by Mumbai Indians by a 46 run margin, a first home defeat of the season. CSK had won their first 5 matches of the tournament in front of their own supporters and their overall record comprises of 8 wins and 4 defeats. They have lost momentum lately with 3 losses in the last 4 but results elsewhere over the weekend means they have already done enough to reach the play offs.

The task now will be to finish in the top 2 and earn themselves 2 bites at the cherry when it comes to reaching the final. CSK have this game and Sunday’s visit to Kings XI to try and achieve that goal.

Delhi Capitals

The scenario for Delhi is identical and they are the form team right now with 6 wins in their last 7 outings. The Capitals saw off RCB by 16 runs in a home fixture on Sunday whilst their results away from home comprise of 5 wins and just the 1 defeat. In their most away fixture they completed a 6 wicket victory over the Royals in Jaipur and their only loss on the road came at Kings XI back in Match 13.

After this Delhi finish up at home to the Royals before they head into the play offs.

Head to Head

Matches 19, Delhi wins 6, Super Kings wins 13

The first meeting this season came in Delhi in Match 5 and CSK won by 6 wickets. Despite 51 from Dhawan Delhi struggled to 147/6. Shane Watson top scored with 44 for the Super Kings but they only got home with 2 balls to spare.

Betting Angle

The Super Kings best for is at home and the capitals travel really well so this looks tricky to call. We have 2 good bowling units and 69 runs or more for any batsmen could be a big ask.
