lionst20The final matches in the round robin stage of the CSA T20 Challenge take place on Sunday 28th April, the results of which will determine the composition of next week’s semi finals.

After Friday’s matches the Lions (24 points) took over top spot from the WSB Cape Cobras (23 points)and whilst both those teams are assured of their play off places they will be looking to secure home advantage in the play offs.

The Warriors have 21 points and in theory could still leap from third to first. The Titans are fourth on 19 points and they are looking over their shoulders at the Dolphins on 16. The Knights are way back on 10 points and will finish with the wooden spoon.

Prior to Sunday’s matches this was how the outright tournament winner betting looked.

Lions 12/5

WSB Cape Cobras 5/2

Titans 7/2

Warriors 7/2

Dolphins 10/1

There are 3 games taking place on Sunday and they are all scheduled to start at 14:30

The Warriors are the shortest price on the coupon, trading at around 4/7 to win their home game in East London against the Knights who can be backed at 14/10.

The other 2 matches look far less clear cut.

The Dolphins know if they are to have any chance of a prolonged stay in the tournament they have to beat the WSB Cape Cobras in Durban. The Dolphins are trading at a shade of even money to do just that but let’s not forget the Cobras have their eyes on top spot and they start as favourites at 15/20. The earlier meeting this season saw the Cobras win by an 8 run margin at Newlands.

Centurion is the venue for the Titans home game against the Lions. This is an intriguing game with the Titans place in the semi finals still to be rubber stamped and the Lions are looking to hold on to top spot. At the time of writing the Titans were marginal favourites at 17/20 with the Lions priced at 19/20. When the teams met earlier in the tournament the Lions came through with a 19 run victory at The Wanderers.

Verdict:

It could be a nervy Sunday afternoon for some of the teams. We speculate with a small treble on the Warriors, WSB Cape Cobras and the Lions to all win.

Suggested Multiple: Warriors / Cobras / Lions at around 4.36/1
