World Cup Form
In CWC 2019 in England India topped the points table at the end of the round robin stage with 7 wins, 1 defeat and 1 no result. They looked worthy favourites at that stage but when they came up against New Zealand in the semi finals they bowed out, losing by 18 runs.
India were last crowned champions in 2011 on home turf, they finished as runners up in 2003 and their first title came back in 1983.
Recent Form
India hosted Australia in a 3 match series at the end of last month and they came through with a 2-1 victory, taking a 2-0 lead before losing the final contest. India also won the Asia Cup recently, thrashing Sri Lanka by 10 wickets in the final in Colombo.
Their scheduled warm up matches against England and the Netherlands never got underway due to rain.

World Cup Form
Australia's 2019 CWC campaign went a similar way to that of India's. They were runners up in the round robin wwith 7 wins and 2 defeats and then lost a semi final to England by all 0f 8 wickets.
Australia have won the CWC title 5 times, the most recent of which was on home soil in 2015 and they have lost just 1 of 6 finals they contested.
Recent Form
Just prior to the aforementioned series against India Australia were in South Africa for a 5 match series. They started with 2 wins but were well beaten in the next 3 to lose the series 3-2.
Two warm matches saw no result possible against the Netherlands and Australia then beat Pakistan by 14 runs.

Overall the teams have met 149 times with India winning 56 to Australia's 83 with 10 no results.

The Verdict
Late team news suggests Gill is an injury doubt for India so watch for further news there. but either way we have two very strong sides and I'll play this one as follows.
Shreyas Iyer is attractively priced to top score for India but he is in the top order and if Gill doesn't make it his odds right now will make even more appeal.
For Australia's top score, I'll throw a dart towards Marnus Labuschagne
Bets: Top India Run Scorer Shreyas Iyer at 11/2 with BetXchange
Top Australia Run Scorer Marnus Labuschagne at 9/2 with BetXchange
