mi2019Kings XI Punjab take on Mumbai Indians in Mohali in the first of Saturday’s IPL matches and both these sides have had mixed results in their opening matches.

Kings XI

Kings XI won their opening game of the tournament away to Rajasthan Royals by 14 runs where Chris Gayle hit 79 in their bat first total of 184/4 and with the ball Ashwin’s 4 overs cost just 20 runs. They travelled again on Wednesday, this time to Kolkata but they couldn’t follow up as the Knight Riders came out on top by 28 runs. David Miller top scored with an unbeaten 59 at Eden Gardens but his team were chasing a hefty target of 219 for victory. This will be KXP’s first home fixture of the tournament.

Mumbai Indians

Mumbai Indians also have 1 win and 1 defeat against their name. They went down by 37 runs at home to Delhi Capitals in a home fixture but they put themselves on the board on Thursday when holding on to beat the Royal Challengers by 6 runs in a thrilling game in Bangalore. Rohit Sharma’s 48 helped Mumbai post 187/8 in that game and that total looked under serious threat with AB de Villiers hitting top gear. However the death bowling was good enough to seal the win with Jasprit Bumrah returning stand out figures of 3/20.

Betting Angle

It’s the first match at Mohali so we haven’t seen what the batting deck is like but with the firepower on both sides and hopefully a decent track, 15 or more total match 6’s would seem to be well within the compass.
