mi2019Mumbai Indians take on Kings XI Punjab in Match 24 of the IPL on Wednesday, the home side start as favourites but when the teams met earlier in the tournament it was KXP who came out on top.

Mumbai Indians

Mumbai Indians return to home turf on the back of an excellent 40 run victory away to the Sunrisers on Saturday. Kieron Pollard’s unbeaten 46 included 4 maximums but their bat first total of 136/7 looked vulnerable. Mumbai’s bowlers came to the party and especially Alzarri Joseph who claimed 6 wickets for just 12 runs as Sunrisers were bowled out for just 96.

Mumbai also won their most recent home game against the Super Kings by a margin of 37 runs and they now have a record of 3 wins and 2 defeats. They did lose their only other home game so far to Delhi capitals by 37 runs in what was their first outing of the tournament.

Kings XI Punjab

Kings XI have already played 1 match this week, a home fixture against the Sunrisers on Monday which they won by 6 wickets. Having restricted the Sunrisers to 150/4 Lokesh Rahul finished 71 not out, Agarwal contributed another 55 and although there was a wobble in the later overs KXP got home with 1 ball to spare.

Kings XI now have 4 wins and 2 defeats against their name and are up there with the leading group. They have won 3 from 3 at home whilst their only win when travelling came at the Royals (14 runs) in their opening game. Other away fixtures saw KXP go down by 28 runs at the Knight Riders and 22 runs at the Super Kings.

Head to Head

Betting Angle

This looks like another tricky game to call. Mumbai have gained some momentum but Kings XI, despite their better form coming in home games, are a very capable side.

Lokesh Rahul, the KXP wicket keeper who opens the batting, landed a Player Performance bet for us earlier this week, beating his quote by some distance against the Sunrisers. With 1 point awarded per run, 10 points per catch and 25 points per stumping he is again on the radar to chalk up more than 37.5 points currently on offer.

Bet: Player Performance Kl Rahul Over 37.5 points at 17/20
