South Africa v Bangladesh, Sydney
This is the first of 3 matches taking place on Thursday, all from this group. Later in the day India are overwhelming favourites for their clash with the Netherlands and so are Pakistan who take on Zimbabwe.
The Proteas opening game came against Zimbabwe in Hobart on Monday, after a lengthy rain delay the match got underway as a 9 overs per side contest and Zimbabwe posted 79/5 with Ngidi taking 2 wickets and Nortje and Parnell both struck once.
With rain threatening to return Quinton de Kock set about the task of crashing off the chase. He smashed 47 off just 18 balls, taking virtually all the strike but after 3 overs the players had to leave the field and they were never to return. A no result from a game they had in the bag will be scant consolation for the Proteas who fielded the following line up.
Quinton de Kock (wk), Temba Bavuma (c), Rilee Rossouw, Aiden Markram, David Miller, Tristan Stubbs, Wayne Parnell, Keshav Maharaj, Kagiso Rabada, Anrich Nortje, Lungi Ngidi
Bangladesh won their opening match against the Netherlands by 9 runs in Hobart on Monday. After losing the toss and being asked to bat first they posted 144/8 in their 20 overs with the top scores coming from Afif Hossain (38) and Shanto (25) in an innings of 3 maximums.
Although the Netherlands only lost by 9 runs only 3 of their batsmen made it to double figures, their innings closed on 135 all out and Taskin Ahmed returned figures of 4/25.
This was how Bangladesh lined up against the Netherlands.
Najmul Hossain Shanto, Soumya Sarkar, Litton Das, Shakib Al Hasan (c), Afif Hossain, Yasir Ali, Nurul Hasan (wk), Mosaddek Hossain, Taskin Ahmed, Mustafizur Rahman, Hasan Mahmud

The teams have met 7 times in this format with South Africa winning all 7 of those matches.
The Betting
South Africa are currently trading at around 1 / 5 to win the game and Bangladesh can be backed at around 3/1
South Africa can be backed at 11/20 to hit the most 6's and 11/20 to post the highest first 6 over total.

The Verdict
South Africa meed a win and preferably by a decent margin with India and Pakistan still to face.
The only match to have been staged at the SCG so far was Australia's clash with New Zealand where the Black Caps posted a bat first total of 200 and Australia crumbled in the chase.
I will stick with Rilee Rossouw to be top SA run scorer and Lungo Ngidi is a speculative choice to be top SA wicket taker.
Bets: Top SA Run Scorer Rilee Rossouw at 7/2 with Sportingbet
Top SA Wicket Taker Ngidi at 7/2 with Sportingbet
